Preparations in Slovenia for EuroBasket 2013 continue.

The Slovenian national basketball team has staked a claim to one of the favourite tags for this year's championship. A series of preparation games have started ahead of the September EuroBasket, hosted by Slovenia.
The team have won all five matches played since 26 July, beating Ukraine, Macedonia, Latvia, Serbia and Turkey. The run has raised hopes about the home team's prospects for the tournament.

The final three wins came at a four-nation tournament in Celje, which was played exactly a month before the start of what will be the biggest sport competition held by Slovenia since the country became independent in 1991.
Slovenia has put a lot of effort in organising the major sporting event. The country has also contributed to increasing interest in the European Basketball Championships across Slovenia with less than 30 days to go before the 4 September start.
The local organisers are in their final preparations for EuroBasket 2013. The tournament will be hosted by four Slovenian cities - Ljubljana, Celje, Jesenice and Koper. They will all get a chance for a final rehearsal later this month. Arenas in the capital, Jesenice and Koper plan to host a number of preparation games.
There are 1,100 volunteers who will provide for the smooth functioning of various activities ranging from logistics to assistance to the press.
