Decent unlocked/GSM phone for >$100?

My old iPhone 3G bit the dust and I'm looking to buy another phone.
I'm looking something that is unlocked, GSM, or ATT unlocked so I can just pop in my SIM card and keep my prepaid service and minutes.

Do you guys have any realistic suggestions of a decent phone that I could find for around $100? I don't need anything fancy; I just use my phone for calls, texts, emails, and occasionally checking something online while on the go.

Thanks for the suggestion, looks like a nice phone, only problem is that it's like $200-300 over my budget... :(

My mom is looking at the Nexus 4 and the Samsung galaxy 3 for basically the same reason.

I'm not sure what the Nexus costs but, I know Best buys has the Samsung galaxy 3 for about a 100.00

I've been looking around and found the Motorola Atrix 4G for $65; all around it seems better than the Samsung Galaxy S Captive for $80 I've been eyeing. So I guess I'll be getting that...

Yeah, except to get it for $100, I'm guessing you need to lock into a 2-year contract with ATT/Verison/Tmobile, and that I don't want. Unlocked or GSM phones that I'm looking for are usually going to cost more because you can use them on any service carrier, like the Galaxy S3 is some $300 and so is the Nexus.

My Mom called me to ask my opinion. I wasn't there so, I dunno if you need to sign a contract. all I know is she said the Samsung galaxy 3 was 99.99 and Best Buy was offering her 50.00 for her old phone. I know my mom does not want to get into a new contract. Like you all she wants is a new phone.
