do you think to have amazing image quality that you need a high-end camera or a high-end lens? in other word... A pro DSLR camera with a cheap lens or cheap DSLR with a pro lens? personally I would have a pro lens. I would love to read what you guys think.:D

Cheap camera + good lens (+ a good photographer).
Unless you're printing huge 16x24 prints, you probably won't be able to see a huge difference between a 12MP and 24MP camera. Only way I can see a newer/more high-end camera performing better than an older camera is when comparing high ISO shots. My older 6MP DSLR from 2004 couldn't go past iso 400, otherwise the pictures came out terribly grainy. Now, my newer DSLR can go to iso 3200 and produce pretty decent photos.

Most professionals will tell you that it's the lens that matters. A good camera is never a bad thing depending on what you want to do but the lens makes the photograph. Specialised lenses will always take better photos than the kit lens, for example.

your right ,but the lens dosen't make the photo, it's how the photographer uses the tools (camera & lens) that make the photo.

Well, yes, sorry that was a bad way for me to phrase it. When it comes to technical stuff, the lens will make the better photograph than the camera itself. When it comes to expression and human insight and talent, it's the photographer obviously. Great photos can be taken with a shitty camera and lens if you have a great photographer who knows how to use the tools given to them. But I felt this thread was more about the technical aspect of photography given the nature of the original post.
If you were to just line up cameras with different bodies and lenses, you'd find that it's the lens that has the bigger impact technically.

I think that the lens is more important than the body. Watch this and see what you think:

Well it's really all about the photographer, sometimes.
Sure specialty lenses help a lot and are great.
But I've seen some of my friends turn out photos with their kit lens and its just wow.
I've even turned out some images with my kit lens that surprises me, because you'd think "oh its the kit lens what can it do." well I am here to tell you that the possibilities are endless.
If you have an image in your mind, you don't really let anything get in your way.
But at the same time, prime lenses help with more sharpness because they don't have as many lens elements.
I guess it's just a healthy balance between the photographer and the equipment, is what I am trying to say haha.

the optics is EVERYTHING
if you have a solid basic camera, then a high-end lens can really add some kick in power for photos.
