Its seems to me that a lot of people think chivalry is dead or act like at at least. I mean i almost never see people treating a lady right. Like i always do or try to. You know pull out her chair, hold the door open, etc. i was at a skills meeting and my advisor made it clear to us guys that chivalry is not dead and we must always act it. I'd think that common knowledge is to always treat a woman right. What do you guys think? Is chivalry dead and what is it to you?

honestly, it pisses me off when people act like i have to be a certain way to date them. no, that's not how it works. you love me for who i am.

i do believe chivalry does exist and i try my best to be courteous, but i'm not going to change my personality to be with someone.

why would you have to change your personality just by being chivalrous with women? by doing certain things like holding a door open or whatever doesnt mean you are changing your personality or anything like that. i think that you dont need to be with a girl (or wanting to be with her) to do those things.

on topic: no, it's not dead. there is still people that are still chivalrous and just because most of the people you say dont act like it doesnt mean it's dead. in my case, i try to act like it but im distracted easily so i completely forget sometimes.

i believe that it is to some degree, because women want equal rights and stuff, but still want to be treated specially. it is either or not both. if the girl in question is a girl i like, then i will treat them kindly. but if it is one who wants to be treated equally, i will give them heavier loads to carry.
