Hi all,
Ok I really need some advice for starting back to school on this Thrusday. I kind of want to change myself in a way I guess you could say. I'll be a freshman I'm high school this year. I want to leave my old middle school me there and have a new me in my high school years. To start with I've never dated anyone so I somewhat get made fun of that not terribly though. I've got really close to asking a girl out but the. Never did. I would if I had the chance again. I'm about 5'5 and 175 so I'm not exactly the skinniest. I don't play any sports at all I work on our farm. I can't play sports because of an injury. So I don't fit in with most of those kids. I used to be really good friends with a kid in 6th grade but in 7th he started playing football and were still friends just not as good as we were. The group of kids I set with mostly play football but they still somewhat accept me. I really am all about farming 24/7 and that's mostly what all I talk about at school. So I know I guess that kids don't really like that about me. I get fun of the most because of my weight. I'm somewhat insecure about it to. I don't really where what's in style either so I think that has something to do with it to. I usually wear work boots, wrangler jeans, and some type of agriculture related Tshirts. What should I wear?

I guess the person I want to be in high school is the kid that is friends with everyone and that no body really hates or has anything against. The kid that has a girlfriend that likes him for who he is not for his money or stuff like that. The kid that does good in school and doesn't get bad grades or anything. Just the kid that fits in with everyone. Please comment with what you think I can do to be this type of person. Any help will be greatly appreciated. :)

I'm posting just so I'll be subscribed to the thread. I have no idea how to do any of those things. I don't even need all those things, I'd be thrilled with just one.

The only thing I can suggest is be yourself. It worked for me. I left middle school and only 6 people (including me and only one who I speak to) out of 238 people going up to my high school in the same year as me came from my middle school. I just acted naturally and was myself and soon I had plenty of friends. There's only two people who I have an on-going feud with, but everyone will have at least one at some point as people do stuff to others to gain popularity- just don't give in to it, just stick up for yourself. Sure, you'll get into a fued (usually a short one) with that person, but is it really worth being unpopular because you refused to stick up for yourself? I don't really have a load of friends, but I make sure those I do are good ones (which is probably why I don't have a load haha), but everyone knows me (but everyone knows everyone else, I guess that's just the school I'm at though). As for the grades, just listen in class and revise enough, that's what I do, and I'm getting A's and B's.

In short, just be yourself. You'll make friends. Those you don't like you aren't worthy of your friendship anyway. There's no point being friends with people if you can't be yourself anyway.

Okay, so two things is that 1.you can't be shy if you want friends and people to accept you.2.you have to embrace who you are. You shouldn't change yourself to get friends, because then they aren't true friends. Embrace that you're a farmer and that you aren't the skinniest. Go along with the jokes and teasing. It will get at you way less, people won't tease you as much, and you will earn more respect.
