Recently you people at VTF have told me I need better hygiene. So, seeing as I only got a mom/sister to ask puberty advice on, I've decided to ask advice here with a few questions. Please answer as elaborately as possible and thanks in advance! Answers appreciated
1.Why do boys need more baths than girls? Why can't they bathe once every other day
2.How long do you have to wash each armpit as a guy for it to be clean
3.Can guys get clean off washing with soap lone or do they need scented shower-gel products?
Sorry to ask this but no1 else I trust enuff to ask.

1.Why do boys need more baths than girls? Why can't they bathe once every other day
Thouh girls don't sweat as much as boys every girl and boy should shower every day.
2.How long do you have to wash each armpit as a guy for it to be clean
Just a little scrub with a bar of soap and rinsing it off should be fine. More or less depending on how much hair you have.
3.Can guys get clean off washing with soap lone or do they need scented shower-gel products?
I don't see why you need anything scented, they just contain more chemicals anyways. As long as you are actually spending time scrubbing and washing you should be fine.

1.Why do boys need more baths than girls? Why can't they bathe once every other day?
Because boys just seem to get smelly quite quickly after a bath and girls smell fresh and sweet instead
2.How long do you have to wash each armpit as a guy for it to be clean?
2/3 minutes for a normal guy, 5 if you do sports my friend says. And she has a boyfriend she bathes because he smells so she knows
3.Can guys get clean off washing with soap alone or do they need scented shower-gel products?
Soap is ok if you're not too smelly. If you are scented shower-gel is a must.
Hope it helped :)

Bebop,
First, "clean" hygienically and not having a "smell" are two totally different things. I have two older brothers (now 18, and 20). I clearly remember when they hit about 15 or so I totally noticed they had a smell (BO). But what I don't understand is why we think a natural body smell (BO) means bad hygiene?
1.Why do boys need more baths than girls? Why can't they bathe once every other day?
You can bathe once a day and be clean, but if you are sweating or active you are going to have some smell no matter how often you bathe unless you use something with fragrance to cover it up (deodorant or scented lotions and stuff). And believe me, girls have BO also. When I'm playing sports and sweating a lot I can totally smell myself before I take a shower after a practice.
2.How long do you have to wash each armpit as a guy for it to be clean?
Come on really, there is no way to answer this. Clean it till it's clean. Use soap, wash it and scrub it. The second you get out of the bath or shower and start sweating again you'll have some natural smell again. Human fluids have odors, blood, urine, saliva, semen, sweat, they all have some smell to them. It's biology.
3.Can guys get clean off washing with soap alone or do they need scented shower-gel products?
You keep asking "clean" so I'll keep answering it that way. Absolutely soap will get you "clean". But I think you mean, No Smell, I don't' think there is any way to remove the human smell of a person, humans generate an odor. If you want to change the "way" you smell then I'd think you can only do it by using something with fragrance to cover your natural smell up.
Honestly thought, as long as you are bathing regularly and "clean" then what's the big deal about your natural smell anyway? Hope this helps.

1.Why do boys need more baths than girls? Why can't they bathe once every other day Males produce more sweat, which can gather, and create bacteria which is more commonly known as B.O.
2.How long do you have to wash each armpit as a guy for it to be clean
The same as your teeth. 2 minutes.
3.Can guys get clean off washing with soap lone or do they need scented shower-gel products?
If the soap is washing soap that is meant for washing the male human body, then it should work fine.
Sorry to ask this but no1 else I trust enuff to ask.

1) I know plenty of boys who can bathe every other day and be fine, but some people including boys and girls sweat more often than others, which is why they may need to shower more than others.
2) wash it until you feel clean... if you do it too much you'll damage your skin.
3) that's your own choice, you're not an alien you're a human like everyone else, soap is fine but if you want to smell of something more strongly scented things are fine

I'm not sure why you think boys need to bathe more than girls, to me everyone should bathe or shower daily and if anything girls would need to bathe more because of natural vaginal discharge and monthly menstruation, which boys have none of. I think overall both sexes need to keep clean daily.

Boys need to shower every day because we sweat a lot more than girls.
When I shower, I usually just put a bit of shampoo in my armpits.
I use scented shampoo because I like the smell, but it doesn't really matter if its scented or not.

1.Why do boys need more baths than girls? Why can't they bathe once every other day
Guys sweat a lot which makes them smell bad, plus as much as your own B.O. may not bother you, it bothers those around you not just your mom & your sis, but the ppl u sit next to in school, teachers, friends, girls u wanna hang out with, nobody wants to be around someone who stinks.
you may not like to shower, but its something you need to do every day. in life ur gonna need to do things u dont wanna do.
2.How long do you have to wash each armpit as a guy for it to be clean
idk i'm not a guy. but use deodorant after u shower.
3.Can guys get clean off washing with soap lone or do they need scented shower-gel products?
you need to try different things and see what works for you. theres body wash thats designed for men, theres bar soap, spend a few minutes next time ur at a store and look down the aisle at the different soaps & stuff and find something to try.

Fair enough I suppose. Only why do you need to use deoderant after showering? Why not just in the morning when you wake up?

Good quality deoderants will contain anti-bacterial agents that help to prevent the smell from occurring, instead of just attempting to cover it up like cheaper brands do.
This will wear off throughout the day though, so reapplication is required.

Ah good to know. Quuick question tho:
Does Sanex dab-on deodorant (not sure if it exists in the States) count as 'good quality'?
Thanks for the clarification tho :)

Showering once a day isnt as healthy as it seems. It washes out all the bodies natural oils. As for me, I shower about once a week.... I know, thats a bit redicilous but we're REEEEEEEEAAAAAAALLY tight on money, and probably cant afford more frequent showers

Okay make it routine to scrub everything: hair, armpit, and most especially your little pecker if you are uncut. It's after the shower you need to be worried about. I can smell my B.O. in an hour after a shower. So get good deodorant. I also have chronic bad breath so brush brush brush. And keep everything trimmed like nails, hair and the pubes. And watch those eyebrows no unibrows. it's worth the work GL.

It just makes you clean, it covers up any nasty smells, and we sweat more than girls... sooooo yeah.

I use shower gel, with a scent. But other than that, you can use just a regular soap. As long as you're getting clean.
