In your opinion how Much of an age difference is ok

It depends. As long as you are both in the same stage of life, or in a 3 year range, then it's ok.

A teen can be with a teen. A 14 year old with a 17 year old. A 17 year old with a 20 year old. So on and so forth.

But, I'm no one to judge if someone decides to do otherwise, unless it's pedophilia.

3 years works. However, if one of the partners is 18 or over, 2 years is alright. If both partners are over 18, it doesn't matter.

The ages I think are ok..

13-15
15-17
16-17
18 - 18 or +

No one under 18 should be dating a 18 + year old person. And aswell with the same for a 18 year + should not be thinking about dating a younger person than 18.

I think 3 is right age difference for teenagers.

2-3 years are good...It just a bit weird seeing like a 14 and 18 year old go out.

I agree that 2 or 3 years is the most you really want to go. I have had an age difference of 5 and it was just weird.

Unless it's a child and an adult ( 0_0) then I'd say like 1-6 years of age difference, but it's all based on opinion. I wouldn't want my partner to be much older or younger than me, so we could both get grey hair at the same time :p

Part of me think for teens -- 2 or 3 years is fine. While -- it may be fine -- I'm leery of a highschooler dating someone in middle school simply because there could be issues since both aren't attending the same school and it may not be known they're taken or they think they can get away with cheating.

It depends really, the younger you are the bigger the age gap seems. eg If you were 18 then going out with a 13 years old would be a bit weird but if you were 28 then going out with a 23 year old would be normal even though the gap is the same.

As long as the older one isn't taking advantage of the younger one in any way then I think any gap is alright really, theres no rules. Whatever makes you happy :)

To be honest, it depends. I'd say 2 years younger, and 3-5 older. Anything more than that, I don't really think is okay. It depends on the age you are though. Like with me, the youngest I'd date is 16, oldest, 22.

Depends! Depends! Haha! Anyways, I am not sure if I can date younger guys. A year younger than me? I dunno really but if it's older than me then I think 5-8 age difference is fine! :D

2-3 is okay, as you get older, the gap increases, like a 23 and 32 year old is okay as they're both adults...14 and 18 is not

I didn't choose yours to pick on you, you just said more about it than the others. I guess some, or even most of you would be appalled at how old some of the guys I've been with were. 3 years? LOL not even close. I don't know if I could even consider a guy under 25 at this point, and even then they can be really immature.

The things that really struck me about this post was the hard limit on 18. Why? The age of consent is lower than that in many places. So even though it's perfectly legal you shouldn't do it? Why?

2-3 years. After 18 it doesn't really matter.

I feel that once both parties are above 18-19 it doesn't matter too much. But before that 2-3 years age difference max.

Idk what's up with 18. It just feels right.

Personally I find it weird to date someone younger by more than a year or so, like I probably would, but I'll feel like a creep:P

So, now if I sleep with a guy in his 30's or 40's that's wrong, but in less than a year when I'm 18 it will be ok?

Depends on Maturity and if your lover has a sex offender warning or seems like a old creep. But for me probably around 2-3 years, oldest I'd date someone is 18, but I'm dating a guy 1 year older than me, so it doesn't matter anyways.

<16: no more than 3. So if i was under 16 i couldn't date a person who is 3 years old or younger

16 to 20: 5 years.

>20: really doesn't matter in my opinion

3 up 3 down, then while you're 18, 1 down and 3 up. From 19 and on the it's 3 or 7 up

I thought the same. I have an older cousin who is 27 she got married to a guy who was 40. Sounded pretty weird to me but she seems ok. Its different I guess when you are an adult.

Why? Why can a 13 year old be with a 15 year old, but an 18 year old can't be with someone younger?

The sex age for most countries is 16, so there is absolutely no problem with an 18 year old going out with someone younger, as long as its not under 16(imo).

I totally agree with you, every person is different, although when it comes to older people I think it's just fine the gap to be bigger, just because obviously, they're more mature and they know what qualities are important in a person,

So by celebrating your 18th birthday the relationship to your 17yo bf/gf must end? What a nonsense!

I think anyone should chose himself/herself with whom to be intimate. I admit, I'd like do have sex with a woman in our neighbourhood who is in her early 40s. She is so beautiful.

And there are threads in this forum, where 14yo girls admit, that they have a crush on Brad Pitt or Leonardo di Caprio - They are in their 30s and 40s too.

And if a 14yo girl choses to have her first time with a 30yo guy - why not? He might perhaps be more careful and less egoistic than a teenager.

I go for girls ages 2 below me, 1 above me (14-17). That doesn't mean I won't date a 13 or 18 year old if she's attracted to me and I decide I like her too.

It depends on the maturity level of both people involved, but as a general rule, when you are still considered "a child" by society, maybe 2 years age difference maximum, but as you get older age associations matter less and less to society as a whole.

For example, most people don't think it's weird if a 64 year old person is going out with someone who's 57, but that's an 7 year age difference. But, it would be really frowned upon if someone 17 were going out with someone who's 10 years old.

Depends on both and the maturity of mostly the younger one.
