I have, I take the CTA(Chicago Transit Authority) "L" everytime I go over my cousins house or ride my bike Downtown. Experience? Most of the times the trains are packed here in Chicago and whenever the train stops to slam on the breaks you almost loose your balance. Other than that, it's cool and always gets me where I have to go. My favorite subway is the State Street Subway and the Milwaukee-Dearborn Subway in Chicago.

I take BART and San Francisco's Muni Metro often. I love subways, it's cool being able to go underground and speed through. I don't know how to explain it.
I'm a big fan of BART except when the damn unions decide to go on strike. (http://www.bart.gov/news/articles/2013/news20130801e.aspx)

I did a thread on my hate for government run mass transit systems. It talks about the problems with the one in my area, the MAX trains run by TriMet. Check it out: http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=183558

I've been on the NYC subway. I enjoyed it. I generally found the stations very rundown and shabby with limited passenger info. But the trains themselves were good. Especially on the E line which i used frequently with the new trains with great announcements.

I have ridden MARTA here in Atlanta twice.... never again.
Rapid transit in Europe is highly developed. Riding Geneva's TPG bus/tram system was great... clean and safe.

I've been on the subway in NYC once, I will never do it again, it's repulsive... Same goes for the metro in Paris, it's a little cleaner, but it was definitely worth the experience. I'll stick to walking.

Well we have the Underground in London and I've been on that quite a lot.
To be honest it's all the same with it being under the ground and all, I'll just pick the Picadilly Line for the hell of it though.

I live pretty much in London so I use the tube a lot and I love it. Each line is so different and most stations are old, but even the new ones have character. I have been on other subway systems such as the NYC subway, they were air conditioned which was nice but nowhere near as clean or nice to look at. I also like the Paris metro because of its simplicity; most trains are modern, some without drivers so you can see the track ahead of you if you sit in the front carriage. I've also used the U-Bahn in Berlin, the ticket system is weird, it smells funny and is really claustrophobic, but I like the trains :)
Order (my favourite to the least):
London Underground
Paris Metro
U-Bahn
NYC Subway

My favourite subway would have to be in Vienna. It's just so clean and modern. Almost all the subways are 15 > years, and the trains are spotless of graffiti and rubbish, and the trians look nice. Although it doesn't have the feel and looks of London subways, ect.

I like San Francisco's Metrorail service a lot better now. It's a bit like a scaled down version of the NYC subway, but only part of it is underground. By 17th avenue, all of the lines are above ground and essentially work as a bus on rails. (like literally; the stairs lower down and they pick you up on the sidewalks, if you don't have a ticket you need to go up to the front and pay with the farebox, etc.)
They also recently boosted the maximum service speed to 50MPH and are running 3 car trains that circulate the subway part to improve efficiency.
It'd be nice if they had more of the system underground though so aboveground traffic wouldn't interfere with schedules and such >.<

The best has to be London underground: the new stations and trains are pretty nice and the old stations have the smell of hot dust and whoosh of air. New York subway was pretty nice but it had no character and I just hate French&spanish metros, their horrible

I've liked the ones in Germany and the ones in New York, although there aren't any subways where I live just light rails.

My favourite is in Tokyo because it was always on time and never broke while I was there, but it was always super busy no matter what time of day it was. Unless you were really old or pregnant there was no way you were getting a seat! :P
