Police, the air wing and the dog squad were used to control up to 500 drunk teenagers who turned wild at a house party in Melbourne's outer south-east.

Up to 500 people were at the party in Narre Warren South, which police say was hosted by a 16-year-old boy while his parents were interstate.

Police were called in to break up the crowd in Galloway Drive just before 11pm (AEDT) Saturday when the pack of youths turned wild.

A crowd gathered at a nearby reserve on the corner of Eastbourne Way where they started throwing glass bottles at two police vehicles, causing significant damage.

Police say they were forced to retreat until back-up arrived.

Extra police, the air wing and the dog squad were called in.

The crowd eventually dispersed as police numbers swelled.

There were no arrests but police say most of the underage youth were drinking alcohol.

this is just stupid how people just gate crash parties. i know people who now have to have security guards with a list of invited guests who have to show id to get in. i'm too scared to have any type of party. even though this happened in melbourne, it happens in sydney too.

Running away from the police isn't always "fun" or "thrilling", while I haven't experienced it first-hand, I have a friend who has run away from the police and been arrested twice.. Nothing major.. just a minor theft charge thingy (its a very long story), and I don't know exactly why he was arrested the second time. We [my friends and I] trashed a 7-11 once (well, that friend of mine did [I wouldn't exactly call it trashed, I don't know exactly how to explain what happened], my other friends and I were kind of just "witnesses"), but there was no running away from the cops, though they did show up way after we left and I don't think anyone got in trouble...

Why is fighting cops fun? well a fight one on one with a cop wouldnt be cuz you'd get clubbed in the head but that just sounds like a fun party situation.

Just because a situation sounds like it would've been fun doesn't necessarily mean that if you were there it would've been fun. Plus, if they were drunk enough, they wouldn't even recall what they had done.

Party boy could make $10,000 from teen riot
Tuesday January 15, 2008

By Matt Bachl
ninemsn

The Victorian teenager whose out-of-control party led drunken youths to attack police with rocks and bottles could make up to $10,000 from his escapade.

A party promoter now says he's prepared to offer 16-year-old Corey Delaney a job with his events company as a party promoter.

"(Corey) did a great job in the wrong place — I think he'd be very successful," said Tim Sabre, director of Raw Entertainment.

"We're prepared to put him in as a party promoter — we'd organise an underage party and have him as the host.

"A promoter who can organise a party for 500 people can make anywhere from $2000 to $10,000.

"If he can pull 500 to the street, he could easily fill up a club."

Meanwhile, celebrity agency Marksonsparks said despite the enormous publicity, they had no plans to recruit the youngster.

"He's a bit too much of a party boy for me," said managing director Max Markson.

"If I was a nightclub owner, I'd be signing him up immediately — he obviously knows how to pull a party together.

"Sounds like he puts Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan to shame."

The teenager's house party last Saturday night attracted 500 alcohol-fuelled teenagers, who damaged police cars and neighbourhood property in Narre Warren South in suburban Melbourne.

Police were forced to bring in the dog squad and call for helicopter assistance to disperse the throng of teens.

Victorian police commissioner Christine Nixon said the boy's parents may be billed for the estimated $20,000 damage the revellers caused.

Parents Jo and Steve Delaney — who were away on the Gold Coast at the time — cut short their holiday and told reporters they were "horrified".

"I can't believe that Corey would do this to us to start with," Ms Delaney said.

"Honestly, he must have planned the party."

The youngster told National Nine News he was sorry — but when asked what advice he had for other teenagers considering throwing a similar party, he said: "Get me to do it for you.

"Best party ever, that's what everyone's saying.''

My mate even got told about it, and he's no where near a party guy, haha

Party boy Corey arrested
Wednesday Jan 16 11:00 AEDT

By ninemsn staff

Infamous party boy Corey Worthington has been arrested and taken to a police station for questioning on "matters relating to his party", police say.

The 16-year-old was picked up in the Melbourne suburb of Narre Warren about 11am, a Victoria Police spokeswoman told ninemsn.

Up to 500 drunken youths attended Worthington's party in Narre Warren on Saturday night after he advertised it on website MySpace.

The party spilled onto the street and joined forces with a crowd from a nearby gathering. Frightened neighbours called police who brought in the police helicopter and dog squad after revellers pelted police cars with bottles.

Worthington's arrest took place during an eventful morning for the youth — referred to in earlier reports as Corey Delaney due to a confusion over his stepfather's name — with reports of death threats and a physical altercation during a live radio interview.

Earlier this morning, police told National Nine News that death threats had been made against Worthington. The statement was later retracted.

But during an interview at Fox FM, Worthington received a threat from a man who claimed to be his neighbour.

John, a caller who said he lived in Galloway Drive, the same street as Worthington, abused the teen on air.

"I think you're a bit of a knob," he said

"I come (sic) home and see all these people on my front lawn and at the end of the day there was bottles.”

"The next time I see you with your mates in the Commodore, you better watch out mate."

At one point, radio host Matt Tilley tried to forcibly remove Worthington's trademark yellow sunglasses, resulting in a scuffle. Worthington ran off.

Worthington has repeatedly refused to take off his sunglasses since the saga of his out-of-control party began.

Party boy Corey cashes in on notoriety
Friday January 25, 2008

Nearly 700,000 Australians have given Corey Worthington a virtual slap, but the Melbourne party boy is embarking on a national tour that could make him rich.

Corey, who has given up his plans to be an apprentice carpenter, is under the wing of manager to the stars Max Markson to set off on a party tour which could eventually net him $100,000 over the next year.

The wild party the 16-year-old threw early this month at his parents' house while they were away attracted 500 revellers, 30 police, the dog squad, reams of international publicity and sent him on a ride he admits has been "crazy".

He has been condemned by commentators for being an irresponsible and arrogant brat, hailed by others for being a legend.

But Markson believes Corey is the most marketable teen in Australia.

He will host and DJ parties in Sydney and Brisbane over the next two months with another in Melbourne on his 17th birthday on March 21. Parties in Adelaide and Perth are also planned.

"He did a great party in the wrong place, we're going to put on a great party in the right place," Mr Markson told AAP.

Corey's defiant attitude after the party spawned a number of websites, one of which invited users to "slap Corey down the street". By Thursday night, he had been slapped by 695,000 users.

Mr Markson said Corey had been punished enough and now deserved to make a living.

"I think he's been admonished for his behaviour, with the public reaction and the fact his parents were obviously very angry with him," Mr Markson said.

"His family has taken him back, he's 16 and left school, he's got to work.

"He was thinking about being an apprentice carpenter, but this is a great opportunity for him to make a lot more money.

"I'm hoping to make him in the next year $50,000 to $100,000.

"He's the most famous and popular 16-year-old in Australia at the moment.

"If you want to get to the 13 to 18-year-olds in Australia, he's the top of the tree."

Mr Markson, who said he would take his usual 20 per cent cut from anything Corey makes, said the teen has received offers to make TV commercials, from record companies and invitations from as far as the UK.

Corey told the Nine Network that life as a professional party boy was much better than getting his hands dirty on a building site.

"Working on a building site was pretty hard. Now I've got a manager, life's good," he said.

He said he was throwing a party in Melbourne on Sunday, admitting his ride since the infamous party at his parents' has been "a bit crazy".

Corey attack caught on tape
Wednesday January 30, 2008
By ninemsn staff

Teenage celebrity Corey Worthington has been caught on tape being attacked near a Narre Warren shopping mall.

Mobile phone footage, shown exclusively on A Current Affair and ninemsn, shows the 16-year-old in an altercation near Fountain Gate Shopping Centre on Monday afternoon.

"There was a big group of boys, Corey's friends, and these other boys that hang out at Fountain Gate," a local teen who saw the brawl told ACA.

It is believed Corey and the two groups walked from the shopping centre across the road for the purpose of a fight.

Corey, allegedly one of the instigators of the fight which stems from a similar altercation last Friday, was then attacked by other boys at the scene.

"He knew he was gonna get it, but he just didn't want to be a wuss," a source said.

Fountain Gate Shopping Centre is the mall frequented by the characters in popular television series Kath & Kim.

this kid makes me laugh and feel disgusted all at the same time. i don't understand how his seemingly oblivious attitude could be used as a marketing tool for a business, and be used to promote other parties. i feel bad for his parents and his neighbors!

First of all I'd just like to say, that newscaster should be fired. What a smug bitch. I don't like him, but she was just terrible. When you're interviewing someone you don't TELL THEM WHAT TO DO. She shouldn't have told him "apologize, blah blah, feel bad!"

It's in no way her place to judge, horrible horrible person she is.

"He will host and DJ parties in Sydney and Brisbane over the next two months with another in Melbourne on his 17th birthday on March 21. Parties in Adelaide and Perth are also planned."

Suddenly he can DJ too? No. He's gonna play mixtapes, guarenteed. Raw doesn't need his help, and he won't get that kind of money.

He's being played and even he doesn't get it. Raw throws "Mayhem" in Brisbane and Sydney with Mayhem productions, which last year hit approx 2 million people if I'm right? They don't need him.
