First, even though this is a medical problem, id rather put the topic here because i dont think girls need to know about erectile disfunction problems related to medicine so here goes.

So ive been on this antidepressant called paxil for a few weeks now and im noticing that i cant get hard. Not even when i want to masturbate. So i found out on the web that antidepressants (even paxil) can cause these exact problems. Thing is, i dont know if its worth telling my "medicine lady" about this and plus its really embarrassing. Other than that the medicine works fine. What do you guys think?

When i say i dont want girls to see this i mean the general hospital forum btw

I think that if the medication is helping you feel less depressed then you don't need to worry about the sexual concequences!

Just talk to you docter and say you don't feel like it's working.

Well yeah, but i gotta think of a selling point of saying: i want my erections back

Masturbation relieves stress. It'd probably help him.

Hey dude I'm on anti depressants too one called sertraline and it's amazing. I have no side effects with it except a bit more sweating. If you really can't get an erection dude you SHOULD DEFENITLY talk to your doctor. I actually had a anti depressant before and had the same problem Haha no erections for me:( but any ways I talked to my doctor who was a weird Indian man and he told me it was nothing to be embarrassed of and he would perspire me to a new medicine ASAP. So your doctor has probably seen things like yours and worse and won't judge you. I advise talking to her immediately. And If your worried about telling your parents about it don't be. I was also but I told them and they didn't judge Cuz they love you and just want the best for you. Hope you get this fixed :)

And If you're worried about telling your parents about it don't be

^ But to a different extent. Tell them you need to see the doctor. You're entitled to doctor-patient confidentiality. What that means is the doctor keeps your secrets. And if he doesn't you can sue this shit out of him. For money and his medical license :). Although I'm not sure if there's a waiver for it. Clear that up beforehand :P.

You don't have to say that. Just say you wanna switch to something else. I'm on Cilexa and it helps a LOT and I can cum and have a full on boner like anyone else

Surely you should think of it from the angle that you can't get awkward erections anymore and you only need them for girls so if you don't plan on hooking up with anyone soon just think no awkwardness for you, I wouldn't actually mind not being able to get an erection sometimes! Have you tried wanking soft?

If you fix your mindset you won't be depressed anyway.

Not really no

Oh okay never mind, I would see it as a positive but if you feel it's negative just tell your parent's you need to talk to the doctor about your medication then go along and ask him to change it and explain why

Talk to your doctor about it. Ask to go on another drug. Paxil is well known to cause sexual issues.

Also, Girls CAN and DO read this forum here.

Agreed. Or you could always tell her they give you headaches and get a different one from her

Definitely tell your medicine lady, this could effect you forever if you don't act quickly.
