To my understanding, its a bill the NZ GOVT is trying to rush through parliament, that will let the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) give its spy information to other countries. It may also give them more spying power but everyone very vague about it.

There are quite a few decently sized protests against it popping up here, but I think its all pointless. They already show us they could pass bills without the support of the people with the Anti-Smacking Bill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-smacking_Bill) in 2007.

Anyone here have an opinion on the matter?

as long as its only given to allies and theyre careful how the data is used, I don't see the harm
