Ok, so I have a love of short horror stories. So here is a short philosophical rant on Madness. NOTE: This means nothing, it's just the ramblings of a madman. I am not a philosopher and am not trying to say anything here. I was bored. Post yours below :)
Madness
What is Madness? Some say it's when one loses all sense of direction and identity. Others say it's when you can't think straight. And some say that it's when you start hearing voices. But in reality, Madness is when you start speaking the truth. When you start to realise, that in the grand cognitive scheme of things, you are nothing. You are but a speck of dust, floating meaninglessly through existence. You will one day come to this realisation; the revelation of a truth that cannot be denied. Madness is when you state your discovery, when you spread the truth. People who are still trapped in their own coat of false importance will jeer and laugh at you, call you a dreamer. But they are the dreamers. They live in a reality where nothing is irrelevant, yet at the same time nothing is important. Each day, we live out our meaningless lives, not once stopping to think. To think; what if? What if I wasn't important? What if I meant nothing? If they did this, then the world would slip into a peaceful chaos. Everyone would be a philosopher, and those who could not see the truth would be labelled as Mad; as opposed to the other way around. So you see, you are as previously stated; nothing. Just another pointless particle cluttering up the world. The ones that are labelled Mad, however, are the important ones. They are the ones that can spread the truth, can help us realise that all life is equally worthless, and we must make way for the innovative future. Who knows what the future holds? Who can be sure that we aren't holding back progress? The onset of Madness holds the key to revolution, and that key could be what this world needs most. What others tell you is not true, no one is more or less insignificant than anyone else. We are all jail wardens, keeping the pioneers of progress locked up in their cells. We must set them free and open our ears and minds. They speak the truth. But you must remember this; what is fact and what is fiction can vary, depending on how it plays out. Despite what I have said before, the truth is unknown. The Mad who speak the truth also speak lies; for the truth lies in the hands of the receiver, not in the palm of the giver.
