What moments in games have left you surprised to the point where you didn't even know WHAT to think from that point on?

My most noteworthy moment is the final battle with Rodrigo Borgia in Assassin's Creed II.

I didn't play AC 1, so I didn't know about all of the Eden shit until towards the end. Nor did I pay attention to its purpose. I legit thought it was just some artifact that DaVinci wanted so he could make some kind of renaissance refrigerator? I don't know.

Anyway, going to kill Rodrigo, lalala, jump on his ass, ready to stab him, say that last "Requiescat en pace", then be on my merry way to live as the greatest traitor to Italy ever known.

But then Rodrigo is all "NOPE." and gets up, blows Ezio back with his magic staff, and then we get a whole wizard duel with Ezio making clones of himself and shit with the apple.

Then, after what I thought would be a regular fist fight with a power crazed pope talking about how God was literally right behind him, I see a glowing, golden, Great Fairy down the hall telling me that the world will end in 2012.

I....didn't touch that game again after the credits rolled. Not because I hate it, but because, well, fuck.

BioShock probably had one of the greatest plot twists ever. My mind was completely blown, but the boss fight was highly disappointing.

after updating to 1.6.2 where a baby zombie stole my diamond sword (Accidentally dropped the sword due to a keyboard control fail on my part.) I've never seen that sword since. not sure if the zombies picking up drops is a glitch or what.

Red dead redemption when Jack Marstson, the very character who you traveled around Texas and mexico gets gunned down outside his barn by Federal agents, no matter what you do you still end up getting killed. Literally shocked me, it was so sudden

Skyrim's ending. After countless hours of fighting bosses, looting treasures, doing quests, I finally beat Aludin, who basically was about to destroy the World. I expected a cinematic, or at least a celebration, or long amount of dialog, and a way to have closure on the game. Nope. All you get is a quick "Oh by the way thanks for saving the world", and a new shout, and that's it. It's like, what the fuck?! I haven't played Skyrim since.

Also Fable III. I put a lot of effort into becoming a Good King, and at the end, where it decides whether you were Good or Evil, I became Good. I was so happy. I beat the last boss, and was so happy... Until I found out that every single NPC was wiped out, making the game literally impossible to play after that event. I was so mad that I didn't play that game ever again, and I'm unsure where it currently is.

Ahem it's "John" marston, jacks his son....haha yeah I even googled it to see if there was anyway you could save him......by the way did you actually, actually finish the full game? In the end you come back as the son, jack and if you travel to that big city where John got his contract you go in a mission to avenge johns death

For me one mindfuck was the last of us geez I couldn't believe the ending amazing

BUT the biggest mindfuck was the ending to Halo 1 when the master chief takes off his helmet

Kay, I can understand Fable III being that way, but you NEED to play Skyrim more, especially the DLCs. If you like dungeons, get the Dragonborn DLC.

Ahhhh. Halo: Combat Evolved. I remember paying it for PC. Before he took off his helmet, I did a console command, which freezes the cinematic camera in place, so I can see him take it off. What his face look like, you may ask? Why, it's another helmet! Don't believe me? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAOo8nE8_Jg

Let's see, the biggest mindfuck was in Bioshock when you meet Andrew Ryan and realize Atlas is Coltrane. Holy crap.

Also Dark Souls is just a constant mindf*ck, the good ending is actually bad and vice-versa and you do not understand if you just saved the world or doomed it or what the hell is going on.

Silent Hill 2 is also a game that does mindf*cks extremely well, seeing Pyramid Head for the first time... argh.

Lone Survivor is another survival horror game that knows how to play with your mind.

DLCQuest's ending was also weird, I'll leave it to that.

I think TLOU ending was pretty emotional. It wasn't exactly a mind fuck but it was an emotional ending that left players drained.

That one was a good one, however have you seen Alan Wake's American Nightmare ending? It was all a Night Springs episode!
