With Syria going through it's bloody civil war, now in it's second year, reports have came in that Syrian forces have strong ties with radical Islamic groups, such as Al Qaeda. Some reporters and military analytics are now stating the Syria will soon become the "New Pakistan", with radical Islamic forces staging their operations in the war-torn Syria.

What is your opinion on this? Do you think that Syria will become a new safe haven for radical Islamics? I for one, believe that this will happen. With rebels desperately looking for military assistance, it's extremely plausible that Al-Qaeda and others have struck deals with Rebel forces, agreements that would help Al-Qaeda, if the Syrian Rebels would succeed in overthrowing Assad. We may end up, within 10 years, start another "Foreign War", in order to battle these Islamic Radical groups, who will surely have a foothold in the country.

All these revolutions in the middle east will be breeding grounds for Islamist organizations. We need to equip people like assad with weapons so we don't have another 9/11.

Didn't the cold war teach America anything?

A policy of trying to contain Al-Queda to one country one work, just as it didn't with communism. Afghanistan has turned into the Vietnam of the 21st Century, the moment we pull out the Taliban are going to be in power.

America have provided Pakistan with billions of dollars worth of fighter jets, missiles and tanks purely because they were anti-communist 30 years ago.

But with Syria you have to remember Al-Qauda have no broad leadership, the Al-Qaeda we fought 10 years ago is gone, this is now just a rag tag group of Islamist fighting against Assad.

So what if Syria MAYBE lets Al-Qaeda inside in 10 years, that's just a guess on the future, one thing for certain is that Assad is committing war crimes against the Sryian people who want Democracy. If that democracy supports Al-Qaeda all be it, the US can't decide the future of Syria
