Hi. I use to drink every weekend. Is it bad? What should I do if it is bad?

yes alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs out there. (http://edition.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/01/alcohol.harm/index.html)

If someone drinks to much, he will get dumb, aggressive and impulsive.
And this happens by degrees.

Every weekend is way too often - especially as a teenager when your brain is not fully developed (till age ~25).
How about every second weekend? And drink less - not until you're really really drunk.
Don't forget to eat healthy and take a lot of vitamins after drinking (it also prevents a hangover).

I have a few questions for you:

How old are you?
What do you drink?
How much of it do you drink?

Depending on how much you drink it can be bad, i used to drink every day (non stop) as soon as I came in from college to cope with the stress i had to put up with, and ended up getting really ill and having stomach and digestive/liver problems, they've all got better now but that is only because i managed to stop drinking, so if I was you i'd stop, alcohol can be as addictive as drugs and you'll end up drinking more and more

robitur i wouldnt say drinking every weekend is "Way too often",
You all hear about alcohol being bad and all which i think you should listen to since you're all teenagers or whatever, but in my defense I used to drink every weekend, few glass of wine on friday after work with friends or some other time few shots of whatever, it doesn't really matter how often, but how much,
a lot of people drink a glass of red wine every day, which is, by the way, antioxidant,

its good to take precautions but before you jump into conclusions keep in mind that theres a lot of (adult) people who can contain themselves x)

As said above it really depends what you drink, I mean if you had a glass of chandy then that wouldn't be terrible but if your drinking vodka shots then it's really an issue

If you drink to excess, yes it's not great because that's binge drinking which can be incredibly harmful to your body, a few drinks is fine, drinking too much every weekend, well, not the best idea

IMO. If your 18 (or legal in your country )
Drink as much as you want, as long as it doesn't affect your life detrimentally.
If it starts affecting anything, ie;school, work, friends, family.
That's when you know when to cut back.
Apart from that, it's your body. Do what you will.

Drinking one or two pegs is ok, it won't affect your health. But you should not become addicted to drink.

the real problem I see with alcohol is that it makes you dumb (not in very small amounts of course).
The image of the typical beer drinking adult - especially here in germany
It may take huge amounts of alcohol to damage your analytical-cognitive abilities - which IQ refers to - but it still makes you dumb in a different way.
These people lose interest in what is really important - what is the meaning of live, what are we doing here, etc.
They just drink and forget everything. Alcohol is in fact a depressant (others are Heroine, benzos, barbiturates, cannabis partly), it's an everyday drug that allows you not to face your problems - even if the rush is over.

This is a difference between depressants and psychedelics (LSD, ...) that many people don't understand.. a psychedelic trip is challenging and after it is over, it still remains challenging. Alcohol is the drug of comfort. It gives you a lot but wants nothing from you in return. That's why there are so many alcohol/heroine/...-addicts and almost nobody who is addicted to psychedelics.

Don't get me wrong, I drink almost every weekend in big amounts. But I know about the risks - which is the first step to weaken them - and I try to balance myself with psychedelics and thinking about philosophy. So all you can lose is cognitive abilitiy, but not character.

And of course alcohol is damaging all organs, not only the brain.

I hope that wasn't too off-topic.
