Hey guys I just downloaded software that lets me control my pc using motion-gestures. And it's really awesome, It's fun to play around with but is also useful. I can lock my computer from a short distance and it's great for two-player games.

What do you guys think of motion tracking software?

I love it, but if a hacker gets their hands on it, THEN the real potential is unlocked.

He doesn't mean controlling a PC from access to a webcam. He means controlling a PC with hand gestures and such while being a short distance away from the webcam.

Sounds like it'd be really cool and fun for the first couple days, and then it would lose its appeal because of its lack of practicality.

i know what he meant. Hackers aren't only ppl who use pcs to access other computers. I mean hardware hackers. PPL who take a piece of hard ware and make it into something more spectacular. Like take this, they could most likely make it so if you make the correct motions, you entire system starts up or shuts down. they could use it for system protection against ppl who try and access the computer from the keyboard. the possible ideas are endless.

Ah, I see. I figured you misunderstood it, but it seems I misunderstood you xD.

OT: Sure, I guess it could be fun to use but I feel like it'd get boring pretty fast.

I think the Leap Motion has tons of potential. It needs to have more software catering directly to it though.
