Does anyone else have to do summer readings, too?
I have two to get done by August 26th. The first is a 600 page book called "East of Eden," by John Steinback, and the other is a 4 part AP World History assignment. To be honest, I don't mind doing them because of the amount of time I have, but at the same time, I find summer readings to be a bit of a hassle. I'm not really motivated to do them, but I don't want to wait until the last minute and fail. For the record, I've started them a couple of weeks ago. :P

I have to read two books for my school too. I chose to read "A Farewell to Arms", and "War of the Worlds". I already finished "War of the Worlds". I'm almost halfway done "A Farewell to Arms". I don't really mind summer reading. I actually enjoy reading as long as I'm interested in the story I'm asked to read.

Very true. As long as I like what I'm reading, I'm okay with summer readings. Not minding the fact that I have assignments for both...

I have three books to read (Catcher in the Rye, How to Read Literature Like a Professor, and How the Irish Saved Civilization). I don't mind the reading part, it's just that I don't want to write two essay papers on the books.

A Farewell To Arms is amazing.
Also, you guys suck it up. I had to read three books this summer. But the bad part? I had deadlines. We had to go to our school and take a test and turn in an essay. Yeah.

I used to get summer work but I don't think I ever had to read a book, for history we sometimes had extracts and essay questions but we weren't given the entire book.
I would have loved it if we were it would have been the easiest summer work ever, I read so many books in summer, summer is when I catch up on the years releases I didn't get a chance to read whilst still at school. I literally spend days reading in the garden in summer or on the beach on holiday.

I have to read three. I'm only done with one though. I have to read A Thousand Suns (something like that, too lazy to get up and see) and A Doll's House. I already read Lord of the Flies.
