What side do you support in the ongoing Syrian civil war, and why ?

I don't think it's a case of backing Assad, I mean the west certainly aren't going to giving any weapons or support to him.

The issue though has to be the opposition forces them-self, whilst they do have a leadership structure they are elements which are very very anti-western. I think the best thing for the west to do is to try and somehow get a UN backed NATO lead no-fly zone over the area to protect civilians from air-strikes and to allow aid to get into the country. You've got children dying every-day, you've got chemical warfare, you've got a country which is falling apart.

Neither. I wish to aid neither side, at least in terms of military support. It's their war. Let them deal with it. I for one do not want to see our soldiers put into another foreign war we shouldn't be involved with.

Both sides are pretty shady, large part of the rebel faction are Al-Qaeda or Islamist linked. We already know what Assad has done, we just need to stay out of it. Though we do need to provide humanitarian aid to those refugee camps.

No, we do not.

No, we do not.

Why not? It's people starving and dying in those camps due to lack of medical supplies and lack of food, we should help out a bit.

Let them fix their own problems.

For once, I agree with Harry Smith, only a combined operation like the one in Libya is going to support the rebels without supplying them with arms.

So those little kids dying in those refugee camps deserve to suffer due to the actions of their leader? Stop being cold hearted.

Frankly, I don't care who or how many die as long as it's in the interest of the Western World.

Support isn't the word I use, but I think the Assad regime is the lesser of two evils. For us, anyway. The rebels are disorganized, and they have links to Al-Qaeda and other Islamic extremist groups. If they come to power, it'll mean chaos, just like in Libya.

As for military intervention...I'm against it. We don't need to send anymore soldiers to their deaths in someone else's war.

I do not like either, firstly because I am not that well informed and second because as much as I don't like Assad I think the rebels are too disorganized.

The rebels are worse than the nationalists.

Neither, both are terrible.

Tbh i think assad is the best out of the 2. Stability and secularism is better than islamism and oppresion of women.
