Not going to say there's a "best drummer", that's impossible to figure out.. But pretty much jazz or progressive artists always have the best drummers.. I can say my favorite drummers though!

Also realize that percussive music is quite extreme and genius in Gamelan music which is why it's impossible to know of a best "drummer". Example being something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38m749syvzk).
