I really want a slim, toned body for when I go away in October but don't know where to start. Right now I'm about 6'0"/6'2" and 175lbs in weight; it seems a lot but with my height balances itself out kinda. Saying that I know I need to loose some weight to get a toned body. My question is what are the best ways to get fit and achieve a toned body without joining a gym or buying machines?:what:

The easiest options I would say is to hire a powerplate if you only care about losing toning.

There are tons of exercises you can do at home without needing fancy equipment or a gym membership.

Just head on over to Youtube and search for "guys exercise/toning videos" or something along those lines.

I use insanity the 20 min workout program it seems to work great. You can get it off of amazon for 15-20 bucks I saw a difference in a couple weeks. You must do it at least every other day to get results

Sorry but "toning" doesn't exist you either gain muscle or loss fat. The way you get a "toned" body is by having a low bodyfat percentage. You won't get that far without barbells. You could do body-weight exercises. For example" Pull-ups/Chin-ups,Dips,Push-ups and any variation of them,Sit-ups,Crunches and Air/Pistol squats.

You would get a LOT further by joining a gym or going to your school's weight room. Squats,Deadlifts, and Bench press are going to help you a lot. Just remember compound exercises are your friends. Compound exercises use more than one muscle at a time.

I hope this helped. ^_^

talking to a professional fitness intructor and nutrition specialist. i did in that way and i helped a lot. many ppl tend to pay not enough attention to cardio and endurance workouts and right nutrition.

We agree a lot with this. Really it all comes down to what you mean by getting a "toned body". Are you going for a fitness model look, or more of a muscle model look?

Either way without doing workouts in a gym with equipment you will struggle to put on MUCH muscle. The danger here being if you then lose weight you will just look scrawny and have no muscle.

Losing weight is all about calories. Don't believe the traditionalists that say you have to do cardio to lose weight. I don't do any cardio and can get down to around 5-6% body fat. If you want to find out more about building muscle or losing weight then check out our site in the description!

As a quick suggestion from what you say. If i were you i would do a bodyweight workout doing different variations of pressups and pullups. I would buy a few sets of dumbbells to incorporate in so i could atleast do some isolation movements for my chest and arms. I would also look to workout my legs to build some size on them (with no weights this is extremely difficult as they are such a huge muscle group). But i would look to do HIT circuits for legs with things like jumping squats.

Apart from that i would just cut my calories, increase my protein to about 1.5g per lb of bodyweight and decrease my carbs. I would cycle my calories to make sure that i am burning the most fat possible and the least muscle possible.

Do some cardio exercise to tone up your body.
Regular jogging, running, swimming, and abs workouts will help to lose the weight and toned up the body.

Start by doing lots of cardio and restricting your diet in order to trim off all that fat, but eat 5 times a day to keep your metabolism burning in order to burn it off, then turn to muscle building in order to actually increase the size + definition of your body
