You CAN multitask on iOS?! I prefer iOS because it looks much better and I find it easier and better for sharing/iCloud.

^this is multitasking. Chrome on top, YouTube on bottom.
I prefer Android (specifically 4.1-4.3 current).
The new Android devices are way better than the iPhone. A couple years ago, Android sucked. But with the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Gs3, Gs4, HTC One, GEGs4, GEOne, Motorola Xphone, android has made an INCREDIBLE comeback. I'd choose any one of those devices over an iPhone.
Android is much more customizable, more powerful for developers, has more powerful phones available which are typically less expensive than iPhones, better hardware, everything.
It's just so easy to say that EVERYTHING about android and Android phones are better.
IOS is like a device for a beginner. They're toys.

If you bricked them when updating firmware, then you shouldn't have rooted the phone, or your source software wasn't reliable. Rooting/jailbreaking is risky for any sort of device regardless of the make or os, so don't blame Android for that mistake.

I like iOS because of it's clean feel, but Android is better imo.

I've only used my Kindle Fire which is a mix of Android and Amazon, but I've seen the S4 in action and it's great. As for a Nexus, no.

Nexus devices are Google's own devices running the most purest form and most recent version of Android os. They are powerful, yet solid as a rock when it comes to user interface. They're fantastic. Google just announced it's Nexus 7 2nd generation tablet a week ago.

Yeah, I was looking at it on Amazon. The edges are too thick on the width for my taste.

That's all good. I have big hands and fingers, so the extra space around the screen us useful. I don't have to hold onto the actual screen :P.

I like iOS better, I feel the look is a lot cleaner, and the devices have a better feel IMO. I've always had a preference to Apple, their products just appeal to me more than any Android devices.

I like the interface of IOS better but I love the keyboards on the Androids. I kind of hate typing on my iPhone. An iPhone with a slide out keyboard like on some of the Androids would be beyond amazing :P

Even though I really like Apple, Android is way better in my opinion because it's a lot faster.

I didn't root the phone, and I got the software update straight from the maker.

Yes, you CAN multitask on iOS, it's just a lot easier on Android.
Android is better because of it's "complex simplicity".
By that I mean it's a more complex OS than iOS, yet my grandparents could learn it much faster than iOS.

Android. iOS isn't as customisable as I'd really like tbh, and the range of things on android is much better, but there's nothing pple can do about that really. I also love the Swype keyboard on my Galaxy S 2 and I honestly cannot stand using another keyboard apart from that, and I don't think you can customise the keyboard on an iOS device. Correct me if I'm wrong though :P

iOS would be better for its stability.

I think the main reason people choose iOS is because its "easier" to use. I have a nexus 4 and it is superior among literally any phone. You cant beat a $300 price tag on a phone that sets the standard in terms of software every year. But iOS can be a little more stable at times but it doesn't make up for the small screen, lack of features ; such as NFC, and the slow processing abilities.

Android, as I love to customize my phones and tablets. Also I like to flash custom firmwares and overclock my devices to get more out of them.

I like iOS because it simple and not all the apps I like are on the Android. From using android devices a lot I find that iOS is more stable at times and performs better even lesser hardware. I like iPhones because I like smaller phones, and I like iPhone build quality more than a lot of the android devices. Though the htc one x is a nice phone.
I also like iPhones as they get software updates for a long time, without the need for stuffi g around with the device. The 3GS is still running the latest software up until the release of ios 7 and it is 4 years old.
Android is a much better os for those who like to customise and play around with their phones as well as those who prefer a more open system.

Sorry this is a bit of an old thread but I thought I could add to it....
Android is basically a 'slimmed down' version of Linux, this is good as you can play with your kernels, mess around with your OS, duel boot OS's (if you have the ROM) and there is a bigger community for modding and hacking around with android devices.
On the more consumer level, Android will give you a more vast choice of phone, unlike apples iPhone's, plus you get better hardware for your money, such as the Qualcom Snapdragon 800 that is in the S4 and the Lg G2, these Chips are equivalent to an old Xp Laptop in many aspects, but with better graphics. while Apple still give you a duel core chip and that's it.
Although, if you want a phone everyone will recognize as 'good' and you like the Ui (user interface) of IOS, then apple may be for you, as long as you don't mind being 'locked down' and 'restricted' by apple firmware.
