Ok so I'm a guy, and I went through a really bad phase of self harming, where I must have made over 500 individual cuts all over both of my shins and calf areas, the scars left over are quite bad and very visible, and they are unmistakably self harm scars, hair has also grown over the scar tissue on my legs so I can't really spray tan them or try exfoliating.
Anyway it's summer now and I can't go out wearing anything other than skinny jeans because I really don't want people to see my cuts, as a lot of my friends and the people I hang out with are very macho and they're used to girls self harming and after it going on so long, it's widely happily accepted as attention seeking, so I do not want anybody seeing my scars and I need a way to get rid of them because as I said they are on my shins and highly visible, theres some fine hairs over them because I'm blonde, but theyre covering most of the skin and theyre quite discoloured and painful looking to other people.
Help anyone?

Try rubbing Vitamin E oil onto them. It's not a quick solution but if it works it'll be long term and they should be faded a lot more. Make up won't work, maybe wear 3 quarter length trousers? I know it won't cover the area needed but it'll make them less noticeable, I can tell you that if they're on your legs they'll be less noticeable anyway. But yeah, Vitamin E or Bio Oil are usually good ways to help scars fade, massage it into the skin twice daily and in a couple of months, maybe weeks you should start seeing good results. It might be disheartening to know it will take so long but remember they'll be a lot more faded afterwards as well so you won't have to worry about those particular scars again.

lemon juice works great for scars. but it will take a while for you to see results.

Witch hazel, Burt`s bees salve and wash them with soap regularly. Also, stop cutting see improvement. It also is much more attractive to have smooth legs rather than scar covered.

Hey, hope you're okay x
And:
Put suncream on and go out in the sun
Vaseline
Germoline/Savlon/anti-septic cream
Liquid foundation or make up works for a little while but doesn't actually help it fade...

Maybe try some skin coloured tights and cut them up to fit the area? I'd put foundation on underneath as well :)

definitely this, the most discrete way I found is after sun which has vitamin E in it, nothing strange about putting after sun on a lot in summer :p

Sorry for saying this but ... why do you feel the need to hide it? If it's in the past and you're strong enough to move on, then you shouldn't have a reason to hide it.
If anyone comments on them it doesn't matter anyway. That's just my opinion. If you really wish to cover them then I'd listen to the previous suggestions.
