Random Question for Girls

This is a super random question girls. I have heard stories about it recently but not sure if it's true.

If you have a close friend who you trust, would you bathe or shower with them? Some say it's natural and it's typical bonding for girls but I think it's a little strange. If you have done this, tell me how it went.

I have taken a shower with another girl before, and it really wasn't awkward. Nothing sexual happened, which was how we both wanted it. I was on vacation with my boyfriend's family and he has a half sister the same age as us, in an effort to save some time and get out of the place we were staying that night her and I took a shower together. Pretty much all there is to know, nothing was weird or awkward about it to any of us!

Many cultures throughout history, and even modern times, take baths together. Typically, these cultures see showering as something one does while alone, and bathing as a communal experience. Its quite common in Japan to head to a bath house. (I use Japan as an example since I've done some digging on this from watching anime) The water is usually quite hot, and the people gather to converse about a vast array of things. Although most bath houses are segregated male/female, there are areas where both are allowed. Some also ban children, but of the thousands of bath houses, at least 35% will allow the entire family. The catch is pubic hair. Most Japanese persons believe that pubic hair is taboo, however, nudity is generally accepted in that situation.

Typically, you would walk into a changing area, leave your clothes and other items in a basket (the high end houses will wash your clothes for you while you are using the facility). At this point restrooms are recommended. After all of that has been taken care of, one travels to the "shower" station. This usually has a place for your soap/shampoo (or if its high end, already provided), a small stool (usually with holes in it so allow water to seep through) a small wash rag, and a shower head attached to a hose. One generally washes the hair, and heavy soiled areas (groin, armpits, feet) while keeping the washcloth covering the genital region, unless specifically washing that area. After one is rinsed clean, walk over to the bath using the washcloth as covering, step in, place washcloth on outside of bath (remember its dirty), and then relax in the warm water. At this point, conversations are struck up. After a period of time (depending on your tolerance, and how hot the water is) you exit, using the washcloth to cover yourself on the way out. You towell off, gather your items, and leave. The average bathhouse cost around $5USD an hour, but the really nice ones can go as high as $250 for 30 minutes.

Ancient Rome also used communal bath houses.

It doesn't bother me to bath with friends. Or family. I mean really, it isn't that much different than naked hot tub, or naked swimming. And as a nudist, I do all of those already anyway. The only real positive side, is having someone wash your back/neck/butt/feet.

But if I had the option to shower alone or with others, I'd prefer alone.

I am not extremely comfortable being nude around anyone but myself or a girlfriend, so that's a no for anyone. And I Hate to say it, but I would probably be staring at her boobs the whole time.

Some people will find it awkward, some will find it normal. The truth is, this is quite subjective.

For me depends on if I know my friend has a crush on me and that will make it awkward to stand naked next to her and know she's wanting to do something more than showering. On the other hand, when there is no attraction whatsoever, It feels ok, specially when you need to get ready as fast as possible to share a shower.

Now, if we both want to do more than showering, is more than normal and ok to shower together and go on from there... :P:P:P

I shower and bathe with my friends and it's not awkward at all.. there was a point when we were 4 in one bathtub (we were drunk though) it was very, VERY crowded lol.. kind of disgusting, but fun haha

well considering I have showered publicly at the gym and school since I was little due to working out or swim practice I have NO problem showering with friends at mine or their house..nothing awkward about it just helps me make sure my back gets clean :D

Once my BFF and I showered together after swimming in her house. Basic story is, we didn't have swimsuits so we wore tshirts and shorts and when we got inside we stripped in the mud room and quickly streaked to the bathroom. She suggested we jump in the shower together to rinse off, so we did, only we kept our backs to each other the whole time. When we were done, we wrapped up in towels and hung out like that in her room for a while. Nothing sexual, we were just comfy with our bodies. I've seen her nude almost as much as I've seen myself nude so it was no big deal.
