Now, if the normal ass spanking when misbehaving while a toddler counts, yes, both did hit me a couple of times, not too hard, but hard enough to shock me and learn not to misbehave.

As for my parents when I was younger if I did anything insanely bad then yes I would get a light smack on the bottom. Does that count?

I think in most schools in now have eliminated corporal punishment. At least in the more developed countries, I am aware some do still have some forms of it but I'm not sure if its entirely legal.

Also if you're doing nothing wrong then that would class as child abuse and you should let someone know about that as it can get a lot worse.

Man, I feared the belt for most of my childhood. Granted, I was never a troublemaker, but still I hated it. Wouldn't want my kids to go through that.

Never. My mom hit my sister once and she (mom) was so traumatized by it that she started balling an called my dad home from work early. And I'm homeschooled so not at school.
However I may spank my kids between the ages of aprox. 4-6 (when they are old enough to know they are doing something wrong, but not old enough to talk to reasonably)

I doubt it could get much worse. And as I've stated on here repeatedly telling someone isn't an option that I'm considering too many bad things would come out of that.

It's normal in our culture to hit the kid if d they're really misbehaving. My mom rarely hits me but if I get her angry enough, she gets the closest object, usually a hanger or belt or sometimes a metal object, and hits me for a while
