Some schools and parents forbid using of restrooms to discipline children and teens. Did you ever experience this?
Is it child abuse or acceptable punishment?

It is abuse. Prolonged "holding it in" can damage the bladder and or sphincter.

I haven't experienced this, but I've heard of punishments like it. As far as I'm concerned it's corporeal punishment and should be banned. It can be physically and psychologically damaging to a child.

That's downright abuse...

It is the first time that I've heard of that, and seriously, no one wins by that punishment, it should be prohibited.

I've never experienced it. Teachers just don't let kids in my school go to the bathroom because they don't feel like it or because we have a lock down (no pass policy). I think it is abuse, since holding it in can be damaging.

As...discipline? I have some teachers who don't allow kids to go to the bathroom because it is disruptive and there are passing periods for that, but using it as a form of punishment is cruel.

I've never heard of it used for discipline. I have had teachers that would not let me go. like Pat said we have passing periods for that.

This could and should never happen. if a school tried to do this they would be sued in civil court and prosecuted for child abuse with the teacher, principal, and school board all facing charges.

This used to happen in my school and still does, the teachers are not supposed to do it but some of them did it anyway not caring and most likely not knowing it can be damaging. I disagree strongly with this, if a teacher says i cant go because i was badly behaved (this is very very rarely, i am usually well behaved in school because i released that teachers are people as well with life's and the last thing they need is your shit to deal with) i will simply get up and go because they cant stop me from doing so as it is one of my basic human rights to have access to sanitary facility's and if i get in trouble for doing so then they are trying to deny me my human rights which is something they really don't want to be said of them. They can do nothing to stop you from leaving to use the bathroom and if they trie it is cruelty to children and they will ether lose there job of suffer a hefty fine

It's not in your human rights to use the bathroom.
When your in school your under the legal protection of the teacher, if you storm out and then something happens to you that Teacher could be sued for damages. You have access to this before school, at break, lunch and after school.
