Okay, so last year I was in sixth class in a CBS, which is a Christian Brothers' School. I didn't really have friends, but it was my last year of primary, so I didn't mind much. I did mind, though, about the bullies. There were a few boys in my year, and they never let up about it. They would always call me fat, ugly, four-eyes, stupid, etc. and it really bothered me. The year was nearing it's end and they brought us on a school tour to a place called Delphi Adventure Centre for a weekend. I was staying in a room with three other very nice girls who I didn't know that well but liked. They were nice to me, so I didn't mind sharing with them. One afternoon, we were all doing an activity in the hall, all 70 of us playing monkeyball, and I got caught out of the game. I wasn't the first out, so a few other people were out as well. Including some of my bullies. Everyone who was out was playing tag, so I joined in and I got caught. SO I was chasing the other kids, having fun, when someone shouts from behind me "Hey fatso!" I turned around to see five of my bullies standing in a sort of posse. Another one yelled "Ugly bitch," another said "Just go kill yourself, no one cares." I was sick of being the victim and sick of staying quiet. I yelled at them "SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!" and ran off to my shared room, blocking the door with a chair in the room. For a few minutes, I just cried on my bunk. Then I heard a knock on my door. "Jenny, it's Aileen, please let me in." Aileen was a really nice girl, and she was bunking in my room anyway, so I let her in. She sat down beside me on the bed and hugged me. "Please tell me what's going on," she said. SO I told her how the boys had been bullying me all year. She got up and said she was going to go get one of the teachers, and the leader of the centre. WHen she came back, with Morris the leader and one of our teachers, I explained to them what had been going on. Suddenly there was a barrage of shouts and bangs outside the door.
"GET YO ASSES OUTTA HERE BEFORE I KICK EM OUT"
One of the girls in my year, Felisha, was trying to get the guys away from my room. We opened the door to see at least twenty girls from my year fighting off the guys, stopping them from getting near me. I felt so loved that they cared, and when they saw I had come out of the room, the all ran over to hug me. The teacher escorted the bullies off and they were sent home. They didn't bother me again.

This year I went into my new secondary school after moving. Everyone was new to me and I felt really lonely. In January, my grandad died and that sorta set off a depression spree. I didn't feel good, I didn't smile, I put up loads of depressing statuses on Facebook, and had people generally worried. One moring my year head, Ms McNamara, called me out of class to "talk". I was genuinely terrified. She told me that two people in my year were worried about me and told her. She said she'd made an appointment for me with the school counsellor, and that she advised me to go. I did. Things got better.

So, you see, people do care, even if they don't normally show it, and they do want to help. There are people who don't want you suffering and there are people who would miss you if you left. So chin up guys, and keep going :)
