So I'm thinking about going for the big chop and trying out a pixie cut. Naturally, I'm worried about whether it will look alright or if I'll end up looking awful. Does anyone have any tips about getting a really short haircut? Or suggestions as to how to decide if it'd look okay with my face? I apologize for being inept. This is the first time I'm ever going to go to a hair dresser with any specific style in mind.

I am a guy, so don't take my word 100% for this. I like girls with pixie cuts so i pay attention to them
after looking at your pictures, i would say, that you get the front hair cut to just above your eyes, sides so that you have about a quarter of an inch space between the ends of your hair and the top of your ear(top as in where the ear is connected to the head), and for the back, harder to say, just because i don't really know how long your hair if in the back, but i would say inch to 2 inches, 3 inches if you want a longer pixie cut.

But that is what i would say, from what i have seen from your pictures, but wait for more responses. and like i said, i am a guy :P but i use to have hair that was an inch lower than my shoulders. then it got shaved off for wrestling.

Thanks for your response! That's kind of what I was thinking about.

If you decide to go for a longer pixie cut, so that the front hair is just below your eyes, you could add a bit of color to it, like take a group of hair and dye them blue or red, or green, or anything in between

I was thinking about that, but I wasn't sure if it was a little too risky.

Atleast get the first pixie cut, go for something in between a short one and a long one, let it grow, see how you like it length wise. Then the next time you get a hair cut, you know how long, and if you want to dye a bit of it. Back in the day when i had long hair, it took about 3 visits to a hair saloon before i got my style perfected

I'm not a fan of the pixie cut, it makes girls look like guys
and every guy I ask about it all say they prefer long hair on girls

My biggest regret ever was cutting my hair really short. I'm still trying to grow it out, and still failing.

I got my hair cut into a pixie once, and regretted it soo much I cried when I saw it in the mirror. I was 8.
