View Full Version : So freaking mad.

You know what really makes me want to scream? When girls think it's okay to make fun of each other. Some kid on my Facebook was jus bitchin' about seeing girls whose shirts are longer then their shorts. And for some reason I got so mad. I mean, if you are comfortable with yourself enough to wear short shorts or low cut shirts, you should be able to do it without being called a slut or a whore. I know girls who wear that shit that are still virgins for crying out loud. Sorry to quote Mean Girls here, but calling each other sluts and whores, just makes it okay for men to call us sluts and whores.

Plus, do you know what those words really mean? Sure they can be applied to women who have a lot of sex, but they generally mean woman prostitute. Liking sex does NOT make you a prostitute.

You should be able to be happy with yourself, and do what you want with your life without being verbally abused.

Here's a very valid quote by Dave Chapelle
“The girl says "Oh uh-uh, wait a minute! Wait a minute! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a whore!" Which is true, Gentlemen, that is true. Just because they dress a certain way doesn't mean they are a certain way. Don't even forget it. But ladies, you must understand that is fucking confusing. It just is. Now that would be like me, Dave Chappelle, the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me saying, "Oh, thank God. Officer, help us! Come on. They're over here. Help us!" "Oh-hoh! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a police officer!" See what I mean? All right, ladies, fine. You are not a whore. But you are wearing a whore's uniform.”
But I agree, with both that quote and what you are saying.
But your line " When girls think it's okay to make fun of each other." Got me.
I have a friend, stick as a thin who made fun of a girl she knew (on her friends list) wearing a bikini and being top heavy (she called her fucking pregnant.) Now, I in all honesty have a belly. I'm not obese, I'm my correct bmi and weight, it's just my dad's genes. But I do look a few months pregnant (not more than 2-3) and I wear a bikini. It outraged me because I also have a friend who isn't very over weight but has a huge belly and normal sized legs. Her dad was also built badly, and she got his genes. She was called tub of lard, whale, 2 ton car in middle school (I witnessed it) so I posted a status standing up for that girl, my friend and myself. I think it's disgusting when girls do that to each other. And fuck, if us chubby girls want to wear a bikini who are they to judge? And I HATE when people say people are fat by choice. Majority of it has to do with genes. I had a gym teacher say I would be obese by 25 because I was extremely bullied in gym class and would involuntarily throw up every day before the class and have to go home. She didn't know that, and that's no excuse. My mom called her that day screaming, outraged because all my aunt's on my dad's side are obese by genes and can barely walk right and have to work from home. And the teacher STILL defended herself. She was suspended with pay and I was put in an alternative physical class so yeah...I hate girls...

I agree fully with the bottom part.

But the top? No.
To me that sounds like that rape excuse, "If you wore provocative clothing, you asked for it".
No, it's not my fault that breasts and legs have been turned into something indecent. If I want to wear short shorts in the summer when it's hella hot, I should be able to.

Yes i am a guy, don't crucify me
IMHO, if a girl wants to wear something revealing, then let them, but they shouldn't go around expecting guys not to look if it reveals cleavage. They chose that sort of clothing, so if they show it, it is just window shopping, if you know what i mean. But to use it as a defense for a rapist, then it is just wrong. IMHO, if a rapist uses that as a defense, they should be insta guilty.
Yes, girls verbally bully each other, but then again, guys physically bully each other. But it is just plain out wrong to make fun of a person because of their bodyshape. But what i find more outraging is when girl a makes fun of a girl b's body, girl b gets in trouble for defending herself, be it physically or verbally.

Guy's opinions count too! (:

I understand that men are going to look at women. I mean, if you have a nice bod, and you take your shirt off in front of me, I'm going to stare. But, I'm not going to say that you are probably a man-whore because you are proud of your body.

Yes I suppose it is. And that's fine. I mean, none of us would be here if men and women weren't sexually attracted to one another. My one problem is making fun of someone for their choices.

Except that quote had nothing to do with rape.

yea that is annoying. if someone were to make fun of me, they will get a fist to their face, and they will be on the ground, most likely injured. :)

I didn't say that it did. I was trying to make an analogy that they're both not okay. Rape isn't okay, Calling women sluts because of how they dress isn't okay.

Girls should be able to wear whatever they want. Some people just don't know their language well enough so they call girls who wear exposing clothes whores, instead of calling them girls who like to wear exposing clothes. I think it is jealousy because those girls look more attractive or whatnot.

I've never encountered anyone that was called a "whore" or "slut" based on the clothing they were wearing; it was always (inaccurately) referred to their personality and their interactions with guys. Do any of them deserve to be called names? No. But kids will be kids, and they're too immature to not make fun of others.

My thoughts exactly.

In my opinion girls can wear what they want, if they want to dress that way its up to them, i'm not going judge them for what they wear, its just wrong if you do.....

I agree girls should be able to wear whatever they want, go ahead if you feel comfortable. But, don't get angry because people judge you (I'm not saying don't get mad that they call you a slut/whore, because that's degrading and not correct assumptions to make based on clothing) but I'm saying, if you wear certain things outside you will be judged, male or female.

There's a difference between wearing things that are exposing clothes and wearing something that is tasteless, as well.

Wearing booty shorts and a low cut shirt does not mean a girl is a slut or a whore, if she has a great personality, and is a virgin, or in a committed relationship with one partner, and not doing it for money. Even if a girl really is a prostitute that's no excuse to go name calling.
Yes, if we as girls call each other sluts, whores, and dirty b!tches, why do we expect men not to call us those names - and worse - as well?

Exactly. Perfect.
