It surprises me how many people don't have adblock! All those people who sit through YouTube adverts and laugh at the terrible ads that dermatologists hate. It is a chrome (& Firefox and Opera) extension that removes all ads from a page, they just disappear! It works on every website on things like Hulu, 4oD etc. I haven't seen an ad in months! (According to AdBlock, it has blocked 61,000 ads since I got it.)
Get it here -> https://adblockplus.org
If we are competing, put how many ads you have blocked down below (click the AdBlock logo in the top left and it will tell you!)

Adblock is great if you're just watching YouTube videos here and there. However, if you're faithful to an individual channel or content creator, it's absolutely terrible. Content creators on YouTube make their money (and sometimes a living) off of only the ads people see on the page, so if you block them, they aren't paid.

The only setback is that if everyone used AdBlock, websites such as YouTube would create more ways of being Ad-Block protected.

Yeah, I always make sure it doesn't block ads on the small channels/websites that need them to keep going.

Impressive!

And the people who make AdBlock will probably keep getting around it xD

For websites like YouTube and some other ones I regularly visit I disable it. I know what ad-revenue means to some people, I know a guy who lives off of it.

I use Adblock so I don't have to see ads on most sites, especially forums that apparently need to pay to remove ads.

The problem with AdBlock Plus is that Google(and others) paid them off (http://techcrunch.com/2013/07/06/google-and-others-reportedly-pay-adblock-plus-to-show-you-ads-anyway/) to allow "acceptable advertising".
To combat this, I find the more effective solution to be having double protection: I use both AdBlock and Ghostery (http://www.ghostery.com/). If one does not block the advertising, then the other will.
Now of course I make exceptions. I look at which ad services do not use intrusive and tracking techniques. BuySellAds is one of them. BidVertiser, provided the other site proxies it, is also safe(I've never seen the JavaScript code, so I don't know about that).
If you don't like Ghostery, use Abine (https://www.abine.com/dntdetail.php), which is also isn't bad.
Of course, it still raises questions about how to get paid. The ads, obviously, are there to get money to pay the bills.
But I disagree with the ways they go about it. Must I be tracked everywhere? Is it really important to know every site I've visited, how long I stayed there, and what things I'm interested in? Sorry, but I'll look at your ads once you address all the privacy concerns. If the ad companies can switch to contextual advertising(where ads are determined by the content of what you're looking at right then) instead of behavioural(based on everything you've ever looked at), then I would gladly look at it.

I love AdBlock! It's very useful. I'm glad I got it. I hated seeing the ads on YouTube videos and now I don't need to.

Ads don't really bother me, as long as I can see what I am looking for then I couldn't care less what is surrounding it, etc

I use Adblock because ads make webpages look disgusting. I don't disable it unless it's necessary to access a certain webpage, and although I know some websites/Youtube channels make money off the ads, most of them are well off without my ad view.

I'm a massive fan of some youtubers and to use Adblock prevents them from earning a keep and considering some of it/a lot of it is high quality Adblock is a shame on them.
Tbh Ads don't bother me that much so I don't bother with getting Adblock.

I use AdBlock, not AdBlock Plus. I think AdBlock is better than AdBlock Plus, and it's easy to get the two confused.
Here's AdBlock - https://getadblock.com/
You can get it from the Chrome Web Store, too.

I hate adblock (and all other ad blocking software)
Free websites have adverts so they can remain free (a lot of the time, anyway) - If everyone blocked their ads, they'd be forced to either shut down the site or start charging people to use it.
On YouTube, you're stopping the creator of the content from earning as much money, which is a shame. You don't stop professional actors in movies from earning money, so why do it to smaller and lesser-known actors/video creators?
If you are paying to use a website, I guess adblock would be acceptable (for just that site), but that is rarely the case.

I have never been bothered with Ads and they have never gotten in my way so I just leave them as they are to support the website which I like/use.

Adblock actually stopped working for me a couple days ago. A google search revealed that youtube and some other sites have had a work-around it. They need to release an update.
