The freest country is probably New Zealand, in fact it was chosen as the freest country.

Hong Kong is the freest AREA by a long shot. Too bad it isn't a country. I'd probably have to say one of the Scandanavian countries (Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, etc.) or Portugal. I don't know enough about their socio-political economic structures to rank them against one another.

As I've said on every other thread it's completely subjective, even for freedom. There is no universal measure of freedom

How do you judge freedom? That's the issue I have, there is no measurement that we can collect like average temperature or rainfall.
It's just as stupid as nearly every other 'best' thread on here

There are a multitude of ways you could judge a countries freedom, economic freedom, freedom to immigrate, restricting laws, ect

Then what's the point in having a thread on it if the answer has already been laid out in a survey, which in it self is most likely bias.
You would need to aggregate these different scores because economic freedom is pretty broad within many capitalist countries which impose a laissez faire attitude.
All the surveys conducted by major groups e.g Freedom house have been proved to be largely biased. There is no universal measurement

If we thought like this, there would be no vt, we could find the answer to pretty much everything on google. And what isn't is on yahoo :p

The illusion of freedom is much more dangerous than the knowledge that you have none.

God why be difficult, there is no 'right' opinion as its someone's opinion. I'm asking what your opinion is.

When looking at it's closeness to absolute freedom, Somalia is the freest. There you can do whatever you want.

Why do you think you only have to use one?
