View Full Version : Breast Development

I'm just curious. I heard somewhere (if my memory serves me well) that your breasts stop growing significantly 4-6 years after you start your period. In general terms. My period started when I was 11 so I'm guessing, based on that (hopefully valid) information, my breasts stopped growing.
I was a D cup by the time I was 12/13 (crazy, I know), but I don't even think they're that big. If I put my hand in a way that looks like I'm about to high-five someone and spread my fingers as wide as I can (until it hurts) and then wrap my hand just like that (fingers still hurting) around one of my breasts, my middle finger and wrist can't reach my chest. If I put my wrist at the very end of the side of my breast and do that, my middle finger would reach about half one cup. The length between my wrist and tip of my middle finger is about 20 cm, by the way, if that helps. I want them bigger!
I know none of you could really say for sure what my fate is, because breasts typically grow depending on genes, weight, etc. and I highly doubt any of you are psychics, but are mine big and is this it for me do you think? (In general terms, of course.) I also heard that breasts stop growing when your like 20 or something. So is there possibly still hope for me? I was thinking of alternative means to making them grow, but I want to know if it's too soon or anything like that.

Medically they will tell you that by the time you are 17-20 that is how big they will be, until you get pregnant, then you might go up a cup or so. Some do go back down, some stay.
if you are a D cup, believe me you are already quite big, anything bigger and you might have lower back problems later in life. ;)
embrace your quite good size, you will be the envy of many girls in college who will need to put the extra padding on the push-ups to match urs. ;)
I'm already envy of you, I'm a solid C and do have to use some padding :P:P

Thanks for the reply. I was just curious 'cause I hate my size...but I gotta learn to be more grateful, I guess.
Thanks again. :)

I think that's plenty big!!! You're actually lucky ;) I want to say that I read that your boobs start developing 2 years before your first period, and then they stop by like age 20. It's different for everyone though...I wouldn't expect to get a lot bigger of you do grow...and I think that's a nice size to have. Either way, it won't make too much of a difference if they grow or not. And if need be, remember, a push up bra is never far away ;) hahaha

Lol, yeah. Push-up bras are my best friend. I guess time can only tell. I sometimes look at the size of my family members' busts (through clothes, of course, and I don't ogle or anything...). They're a bit bigger than mine so I hope mine will keep growing. I don't want surgery! Gahh...

Damn, though! You're lucky. :P

Yeah, I hate that. They just blow up and then stop. Maybe they'll still grow, though. I actually heard of this one girl who had a small rack for years but then when she was like 20 or something, they randomly blew up. She grew like 1-2 cup sizes. I was like, DAMN!

Tell me about the family member thing...every woman in my family on both sides has nice size boobs and then here I am all mediocre and whatnot hahaha I'm kind of just hoping that I'll wake up with a nice rack like that girl you mentioned one of these days xD and I am not getting surgery either. Paying to have water balloons sewed inside of you pretty much. Hell no.

My period started when I was 11 and I've grown less than an inch in breast size since

I can't see your pic that well, and I don't want to sound like a creeper or anything, but your bust seems fine, girl! Whenever I'm feeling rather depressed because of my pair, I close my eyes and imagine messed up tits...like woman who have breast cancer or had too many boob jobs or something. You know? Makes you a little more appreciative. At least me. But yeah, let's keep our fingers crossed anyway...;)

Hey girl, don't worry! Breasts are pretty much just fat. Ever see a really fat woman with breasts and a really thin one with next to none? That's an overlying reason why. But then there's genes you have to take into consideration and whatnot. A really thin girl could have natural Cs and it's usually because of heredity. But what you consume or fail to consume can also play a part in the development, I heard. Besides, you're still young. :) They may just surprise you.

Hmm, I haven't heard that. I think it is 4/5 years after they start growing. I started getting breast buds and my firstbras as 8. moved up a size at 10. When I turned 12 I got my first period and my breasts grew like a cup size. now at 32 or 34a they are starting to become less pointy and more round like an adults like they are stopping. weird because it's onlybeen one year since my period, but they did start growing 5 years ago.
