I've said this a couple times, but I don't think anybody understands what I mean, so I'll explain it further.
People on VT are constantly asking if they're gay or whatever, and listing things that they think "make" them gay. And then there's people who say that "only sexual and physical attraction makes you gay", which is somewhat true, except that labels don't work that way.
Saying you have to be this or that is saying that there is criteria to being gay, when there isn't.
Which leads me to the fact that being gay is the cause, not the effect. No set actions or feelings makes you gay, but these feelings and actions happen BECAUSE you might be gay.
The main reason I'm saying all of this is because this backwards idea is where people start to not understand how labels work.
1. You can't put a label on somebody else, or any set action, etc. Only that person is able to "choose" their label.
2. Confiding in a label doesn't mean it's what you are. (Ex. You could say you have brown eyes when you have green ones, it doesn't instantly make your eyes brown.)
3. You don't HAVE to use a label anyway. All of this trouble and confusion usually comes from labels anyway, they're actually quite over-rated.
(SORRY FOR THE RANT, AND I KIND OF GOT OFF-TOPIC BUT I NEEDED TO SAY THIS)
