Since the start of my adolescence, I never sleep 8/9 hours per night, every night, although sometimes I did. Now it's summer and I can't even sleep properly, which will aggravate it. What are the effects of long-term sleep deprivation in teens?

I know it affects concentration and problem-solving skills, but how do I weaken this side effect, besides the obvious way?

Probably not the most reliable resource, but I hope it helps! http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/features/important-sleep-habits

It's okay to get around 7 hours of sleep every night as an adolescent. It's really less then that that causes problems.

I guess the first thing to know before I can try to answer for you, what are you considering "sleep deprived"? If you get just under 8 hours you're fine, that's just recommended. If you're getting 6-7, you're okay and just need to get some extra sleep when you can.

Sleep deprivation is tough. Side effects are anger or heightened irritability for no clear reason. These are most common but there are many dependant on the person.

Sleep deprivation actually can cause many problems so you should really try to get it under control...and I know it will not be easy
