Does anyone else hate it when you are listening to a song you like and someone says something like "That song is so old why do you even listen to that!"

yes, because if it is good song, they never get old. there is a difference between old and overplayed though. overplayed songs are annoying. and usually the bands who have overplayed songs have made better songs.

I've never been in that position, but if I were, I'd just simply say that music doesn't have an expiration date.
Kind of annoying on how some people consider songs from a few months ago old... Then again those people are usually morons so who cares.

I'm not talking about a song being over played to a point where it's gotten old and people are tired of hearing it. For example, I was listen to one of 2Pacs songs and my friend asked me why I was listening to it since it was from the 90s...cause its good music...

I listen to all kinds of old stuff - the classic sports anthems everybody knows, classic rock, the pioneers of heavy metal like Iron Maiden. It doesn't matter as long as it's good stuff

I tell people the same thing.

Good music can always be appreciated. I've never understood why people say a song is "too old"

I utterly hate that myself.
If it's good, it's good. Why does it matter to be old? I'm not sure about the rules on swearing, so I have to resist the urge to F-bomb.

No, because I don't listen to old music. All my favorite artists are from Late 2000's to now.

Older music is seemingly better. Especially older latin music.

Yes. Just because it wasn't written in the last six months does not means it's bad. In fact, if people are still listening to it decades after it was released it's probably pretty good!

Yeah. Most of the music I listen to is from from the 70s-90s.

People only say that if I'm listening to a song from like 2008. I respond with:
"Is AC/DC too old as well? How about Queen and Pink Floyd?"
I think it's the same with cars.

It really irks me, I just say I don't care, I like it, my taste in music, everyone has different tastes. And to me music is never old, even if it is from years ago. I think it's good, Idc what others say.

I personally don't listen to much music that is that old, but it's all based on preference. If I heard an old song that was good and I liked it, I could care less when I was made.

I've never been in that position, but I wouldn't enjoy the person, no. Cause really, the only people who talk extensively about music with me like older music than I do. I appreciate older music, but my taste usually stops somewhere after the 80s with some exceptions like David Bowie. Otherwise, it ends with Depeche Mode, The Cure, and U2.
But I'll say, I can't stand people who only listen to old music because "modern music is terrible." Modern music isn't terrible, it's just that mainstream music has changed. Your precious rock and roll bands aren't what's popular anymore. There are still some amazing artists out there and no one seems to give credit to them. You just have to do a little more digging than you used to.
Personally, I don't listen to a ton of old music unless I just found the artist because I really enjoy following presently-active artists. I need the concerts and album releases, tbh.
