my problem is last year i was 7th grade im a very athletic person i love sports as you can tell from my name well last year i was expecting like a 8in growth spurt and my voice cracking, and hair, you now just the simple puberty stages. Well that did'nt happen not even close but my friend who had been my best friend since kindergarden i was used to me and him always being the same height cause we were but sadly he was growing, before i knew it he was allready 5"6.
Thats what got me really thinking about puberty so i lived on my labtop visiting sites on puberty reading articles i read most stages start by 12 or 13 so after reading that i was'nt as worried so i figured my time was coming
The year went on and still no progress, allthough my friends kept showing signs of puberty

This year in 8th grade im 5''3 and im preety happy about that cause i am the youngest kid in my grade litterly my b-day is the day of the deadline but im still seeing no hair under my arms no signs except the growth and i will be turning 14 in 9 months

1.so my question is when will i see some progress in my stages
2.also my dad was 6"2 at the end of 8th grade and im only 5"3 but people say we look so much alike in every way why am i not like my dad was

1.) We can't tell you when you will progress, everyone is different, but you probably will see some growth pretty soon!
2.) You and your dad are differnet people. Even if you look like him in almost every way, that doesnt mean you will grow to be EXACTLY like him. Just be patient, and you'll grow:D

Layne gives his usual good advice here, so let me chime in. Sometimes when more than one person says the same thing, it's more believable.

Everyone goes thru puberty, you'll have to wait for your turn. And although stuff like this tends to be genetic, I think your dad being 6'2'' at the end of 8th grade is unusual. What's happening to you, your rate of development is, as your online research indicates, pretty much on target. Just hang in there, eat well, get enough rest, maybe some exercise, and you'll grow up healthy and strong, too.

well there is still 9 tons of time left in the year. I think you will be behind your class as far as puberty goes but you may catch up next year so all you can do is wait....well you still have genes from your mom so depending on how tall your mom is you can be shorter than your dad. its really hard to tell soo early...
