First off, I'd like to state that I looked for any kind of Fitness kind of area on here and couldn't find one!
I'm 15, roughly 112 pounds, and about/around 5'7.
I've always dreamed of having a swimmers, surfers body, abs, etc. I just have never gotten around to actually finding the answers and starting my journey to get my dream body. People say I'm on the smaller side (Width) and I always here people say that "A skinny person with abs is like blah blah" and I've been told thousands of times that I'm really small. So is there anyone out there that has very good knowledge on fitness, and ways for me to get wider muscle wise and get to my dream body? ANY kind of information would help.
Thank you so much! ;):D

If your looking to build muscle the only way to really do that is to exercise the areas that you want to build. You said you want a surfer type of body that means, you want muscle but not bulk, so you have to do two things work on cardio, and lift lighter weights to build muscle. The heavier the weights the more you bulk.

No problem I would recommend taking a weight training class that might help you to better understand or just look it up on the Internet good luck :)

since youre small youll be easier to build. heavy lifting will be able to add onto the muscle mass but using protein shakes and eating right will help speed up the process. theres so many ways to get big but you have to find the one that fits you the most

Haha couldn't have searched hard because there is a whole forum on sports and fitness, http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=139
Ok well I'm a swimmer, and so I've coarse I've got the 'swimmers body' you speak of. Swimmers don't have muscle, so to speak of. We just have a very little fat percentage, almost no fat at all. To get a swimmers body you don't lift weights ect, because that's not what swimmers do. We do lots of cardio, I do 4 hours cardio a day. Along with some land training, including sit ups and pressups ect. Also diet is a biggy. If you want to chat more on the topic just ask (:

Swimmers don't have big muscles, they are thin. So why, if he said he wanted a swimmers body would you tell him to build muscle, that's not what we do.

Sit-ups don't give you and hahahahaha biggest myth ever.

Training muscles doesn't always give you huge arms, legs, abs, whatever.
Different kinds of training result in different kind of looks....
Swimming is not for big muscles

heavy lifting is more about gaining strength, Bulking is to do with your diet

Bulking is what body builders do it means to gain an increased amount of muscle it doesn't really have to do with dieting but some diets can help. The heavier weights you lift the more muscle you gain. Makes sense right? And the more muscle you have the more strength your body gains.

it would be stupid to lift heavy on a caloric deficit

Exactly, people gain by eating different foods.
But why does this matter, he doesn't want to bulk
