Does anyone else go back to school shopping? If so, what stores do you shop at and how much do you usually spend?

In terms of back to school shopping, all I need to buy are new notebooks. Everything else, including clothes, I just reuse for next year...

Used to, you can't exactly shop for anything when you're broke though, can you?

My parents want to buy me new clothes but I know I have a lot, so I'll just re-use everything from last year.

I always go school shopping. I usually go to whatever stores are in the mall. I don't know how much I spend on it though, because my mom pays.

Of course WE are broke, we are kids, so shop with your parents because they are not broke or use their credit card on the internet

I hate shopping too or wasting time going to the mall and other places, so now we shop on line. I even do it for shoes because some websites have a printable foot measure thing and it works great.

no way! it must be nice to just get up, know what your gonna wear and be done with it instead of being judged by what you wear. kids saying i'm rich because of my clothes is so dumb or other kids dressing poor because they thinks its cool. cant win.

do you have to buy certain shoes, socks, belt, underwear and tie too? ie everything? if you were a girl could you wear jewelry?

I would rather be free to where whatever, shoes and socks have to be a certain type, underwear I don't think is regulated and yes we have to have a certain tie, the jewelry policies very from school to school

When I said I'm broke, I meant my entire family, not just me. If that wasn't clear.

I'm planning to do what I did last year, steal stuff from a thrift store. There's no money but even if there was it wouldn't be spent on me.

For me mostly new notebooks pens and pencils. As we wear uniforms I just replace anything worn out or damaged. At the end of each school year we autograph each others shirt and cut up our skirt. A senior last year had boys signing her underwear until a teacher saw her skirt up and put an end to it.

Nope. I'm homeschooled. I'm going to an online school next year so I don't need new back to school clothes.

Oh it's no problem. Yeah, I have a roof over my head and food so I have what I need to live. Well my step-dad is permanently disabled and my mom is unable to work, and yup hah got a lot worse because of the recession.

Well in the UK unlike all you lucky people we actually have to wear a uniform! So I would buy 3 pairs of trousers for £15 each, 5 shirts for roughly £5 each and a blazer for £35 all of that is bought in Mark's and Spencer's and then I'll just find a school bag and shoes, this year I have bought Black Vans for £43 and a black vans bag for £40

i don't actually shop for back to school clothes since i have a school uniform but i used to shop at Uniqlo when i didn't need to wear a school uniform and i usually spent, like, at least a thousand bucks there.

For me and Jason, not really any more. For my younger brother, probably yes. Mostly, if Mom's gonna buy anything, it might be more erasers or pencils...or folders...not necessarily clothes
