I searched for this suggestion, but didn't see it posted.

Strike-through Text

I use this a lot on forums, and it's also helpful for update edits.
Might we have? :what:

Also wanted to suggest an Autism sub-forum under 'Mental Illness.' I have High-Functioning Autism (Aspergers), and I'm sure there might be some others here that might have some form of Autism or Dyslexia or may have a loved one with it.

I've always wondered why we didn't have that particular BBCode.

Why in the hell have I never noticed this?

My four and a half years on VT are now meaningless.

I had never noticed it till I visited the BBCode page (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode)

Why it's "-" instead of "s" remains a mystery to me...but yeah there you go. I also suppose there's a reason why it's not showing by default along with the B (Bold), I (Italicize), and U (Underline).

As are my nearly 2 years here.

From my experience working with vB3, it has its set of default BBCoding, which are the options you see, and it also allows for additional BBCoding to be added using HTML coding. The code or text (in this case, [ - ] and [ / - ] ) is determined by whoever implements the code, and they're also given an option to add an icon to the default settings (where it has B, I, and U for bold, italicizing, and underlining among other things), but it's not necessary.

I could be totally wrong, though. It was a year ago that I last used vB3.

I don't understand why we don't have the button on the editor lol

If there was a button for every BB Code it would probably make the editor look quite messy.

Yes, but I see nothing wrong with adding ONE button (the strike-through BBC).

Yes, but I see nothing wrong with adding ONE button for other BBCodes for Youtube videos, User pages & Wiki pages etc. Obviously VT can't just tailor to everyone's specific needs. That's why the most common BBCodes are shown.

Well to be honest the strike-through is a commonly used button on nearly every forums. Of course we can't tailor make the editor to every persons specific needs but on many forums the strike through button is commonly used.

That's my main point, I'm not suggesting we add it, but I was making a point.

My only concern with this is the same concern I have with spoilers - abuse and issues moderating.

I just have a hunch that some people might abuse this [-]so that it is more difficult for us to see things and what not[/-]

of course I think this could come in handy sometimes, but not enough to make it worth having a button for it. As said, we could add a button for numerous things. I don't think this is really necessary.

Like I said, I am not personally suggesting we have it added, I was more pointing out how it usually is apart of many forums editors.

It could cause problems when moderating and that's a valid point but if someone was to create a thread with complete strikethrough text then I guess it could be classed as spam and it could be edited out.

I suppose that makes sense...

Well at least I know how I can use it if I want to!

[-]Imma spam with strikeout now![/-]

^ An example of how I use it. I only use it when I'm joking or editing out a part of an update on a post.
