Hi! I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section, but I'm new and couldn't find a technology section. If there is a better place for this thread, a staff member should feel free to move it there. Anyway, here's my question. It's rather silly, but I'd like some insight. Do you think it would be possible, if you were watching something on your computer, to have someone else looking at your screen but you don't notice they can see what you're watching also? Maybe if you were deeply immersed in what was on the screen... Like I said, I know this is an odd question, but could you please give me some ideas on your opinions? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Allison! I feel like a fool; I'm really bad at searching online. Let's just say this; my computer knowledge is not much more than that of the average person born in... a time when computers were not in everyday use. There we go; that shouldn't be offensive to any particular decade.

2 FOLLOW YOUR INTERNETS IP ADRESS TO YOUR COMPUTER
Do say how, you can't do that much with an IP address.
anyways I used to hack
lol
Anyway; people on your local network (more factors though) can see you if they have some login details on your user accounts. With the correct ports forwarded anyone can see you(again, with the correct login details). If you are scared of parents or so looking in on you, deny the IP in your firewall.
It's why I don't keep passwords. I have 25 characters in every password I have, I don't remember any (other than my PC login one). Have them in a few locations, which I am not going to tell you :P

It seems to me like the OP question is "is it possible to be so immersed in what you're doing on a computer that you don't notice somebody watching you/your screen" and the answer to that is a very definite yes, especially if you use headphones.
After rereading the OP I don't think this is the question but I'm keeping my other answer here:
If the question is "is it possible for someone to watch what I'm doing without being physically present", the answer is unfortunately yes, with caveats. Computers do not by default allow such activity (for obvious reasons.) It is, however, possible using either through legitimate software or through malware to observe what's happening on another computer. - Note that this requires something to be installed on the computer being observed - either something like a virus - or something intentionally installed to permit observation.

Everyone will start going all technical about it, so I'll just put it simply- yes, it is possible.

Thanks, Ethan! I liked your response. I'm Latrissa, by the way. It's nice to meet you!
That's because I'm a weird person, lol!
Thanks for all the answers! Wow, you guys know a lot more about tech stuff than I do!

If you mean that you're so enthralled that you wouldn't notice someone right over your shoulder, then yeah. That can happen, and quite frankly I'm concerned for your health if that's the case.
Seriously though. There are methods. There's managing software, remote desktop applications, etc. But these are usually associated with somebody who owns the computer. (I.e, parents, bosses, etc.)
If your concern is random people on the internet accessing your desktop, then that usually will only occur if you have some sort of virus, or someone has tried to access it from afar.

Most people leave the back door unlocked when it comes to computers.
Lets say, it is not difficult to see what someone is doing.

Look at the program team viewer. That is a more legitimate program of what you are asking about. Just trying it should answer your question.

That's exactly what I use to control our computers, either from my laptop or iPad, it works great.
