I haven't directly been friend zoned by this girl, but I still consider myself friend zoned...here's the problem:

I've known this girl for a long time and we're neighbors. Until a week ago, we hadn't talked for a long, long time, even being neighbors. She has definitely grown up a ton, I will say. We talked for at least three hours, then talked again a couple days ago for another three hours (I was with a friend and her sister...not that that's important). The thing is, I think I like her now. I just feel that it'd be weird to tell her since we were "best friends". She always calls me cute and hugs me, but I'm not sure if that's a "friendly" thing or not. It's really bothering me...what should I do?

Ugh stop. You are not being put in the friend zone and when boys complain they're in the friend zone, it pisses me the fuck off. It does not exist. Why can't you just be friends with someone, if that's what they want? If she doesn't want to be with you and wants to be your friend, surely that should be good enough. Yeah it sucks you like her and she may not like you back but please stop with the friend zone shit. Some girls just want to be friends and that should be totally okay.

Did you read?

I have not been put directly into the friend zone. She did not ever say, "let's just be friends" or "you are my best guy friend".

That is my problem.

She's just trying to be nice...I would definitely not assume anything just cause you have talked to her for six years. One of my best friends (a girl) I have known since 2nd grade--I have asked her for TWO AND A HALF YEARS to be my girlfriend and every time it hasn't worked. Don't worry, it will happen eventually.

Do you read what you write? You consider yourself friend zoned.

If you want to know what she thinks, just ask her. Girls like things straight forward and to the point. Don't beat about the bush with it, confidence is key.
