I have this really annoying chat issue. My chat gives me the initial bubble load and then all of a sudden it's a white screen. When it gives me the white screen, the CPU usage of Java goes from about 5% to about a whopping 40% and then lags the crap out of my computer. Does anyone know what's going on? I can rarely get in and I reinstalled Windows today and it worked, and now it doesn't. I've resintalled Java, uses Java x64 with a x64 browser, and the log says:

Can anyone explain this? I literally have no idea why it's doing that. Massive lag, no difference across browsers or reinstall. Help?

It seems like your computer is having difficulty connecting to parts of the VT chatbox.

If there is either a pop-up or the pop up bar, have you said accept.

Your CPU, that is really unusual

What's unusual about the CPU?

And yeah, I did press accept, I did it like 3 times on different machines I literally have no idea how everyone else can connect and I can't. It's not my internet cause it connects after I've just reinstalled Windows and then 1 hour later... Nope! D:

Java is an applet, and really should not be causing your CPU to jump like that. What browser are you using?

I'm using Chrome, the same thing happened with Firefox and IE.

Delete all your browsing data, see if that helps.

Ctrl+H Clear Browsing data, then from beginning of time. try that

I've tried all of that too.

Are you using a mac or a PC?

I'm using a PC. I opened up a ticket with the AddonChat support team and they were not very helpful at all. They wanted to come onto the site and look at the chat themselves but I had to explain to them it was only a client-side issue.

However, I think I've managed to find out the problem though. After a lot of searching and looking at all the system changes, I think the problem might have been caused by a dodgy font - strange isn't it? I've not installed any fonts and since then the chat loads fine, although when I leave I hear the leaving sound play 5 times; which is odd.

But thanks anyway ^_^ This thread can be locked now, I'll reopen it in case it's not the fonts but there's a good chance it is.

Check one more thing. Go to the Start Menu and type in Java. Click on Java...

Then go to the securities tab. Make sure it looks like the image I attached..

I also tried that too- set it to medium etc. I had no luck. I'm pretty sure the issue was with the fonts anyway, seems to work fine now. But thanks anyway!
