View Full Version : It seems my parents have something against white people.

My parents are Indian and are saying how white people are not loyal to their girlfriends/boyfriends. To me I feel they are racist and only want me to go for an Asian girl (India being part of Asia). I’m only attracted to white girls and my parents say this. They say this because they look at the white guys who are friends and are in relationships with other white girls and start saying that if the girls go for those kinds of guys don’t bother about white girls at all. Its really annoying and I want them to stop. I only like white girls and I’m not sure how to explain to them. No white girls seem to like me in the way I like them, and also the girls who like me who are white are the girls who I only like as friends or will soon start to like and by the time I like them, they loose interest. But some of the girls I’m interested in, my parents look at the guys their friends with and tell me what kind of people they are with and that they are not worth my time. I’m only attracted to white girls and not Indian girls and my parents are really getting on my nerves.
What can I do to make them stop?
Please don’t tell me to go for Indian girls. I’m definitely not attracted to them so don’t tell me to go for Indian girls instead.

All you can do us live your life the way you think is right. Maybe by being a good example your parents will see that they were wrongly judging people by the color of their skin

Just tell then you like white girls, you can't control how they think. Unless they're physically preventing you from dating white girls, you shouldn't really care all that much either. If they want to be racist then that's their decision, not your's. Lots of couples (even married couples with kids of their own) have disapproving parents, it's just something you have to put up with unfortunately.

1. It doesn't matter what they think, it matters what YOU think.
2. Why does every one of your threads have something to do with white people?

My parents are black and kinda are the same. I haven't and probably won't tell me about anything dealing with my and white women. That is just a recipe for trouble. Just do what you want and keep it to yourself.

Don't worry about it, you can date and be attracted to whoever you want. They are scared of the unknown. We are in 2013, the age of interracial everything. Go for it, and tell them how you feel. Once your 18 you can do whatever the hell you want anyway and their either with you or against you. If they have any love and respect for you they'll support you. You just need to show them you don't think like them.

Well how about with school work. It looks like they expect me to shove my head into all my school books and do my school work 24/7. :(:cry:
Yes, they tell me to go for the girls I like and if their white you will just notice that they are not loyal back to you and won't be with you for long. My dads saying is "girls change their boyfriends like they change their underpants"
Are white girls actually loyal and care for their boyfriends or do they just care on going for what ever guy which it seems they are the guys who teat me like shit and bully me around. They always get the girls :(

Trust me, you can't make your parents see reason about things like that. They have their minds set. Just pick a good lady that won't cheat on you, and maybe they'll grow to accept it. Do what make YOU happy, not them.

Focus on school for now. There will be plenty of time in the future to have relationships with girls. And the older you get more options open up to you so no point in rushing.
And unfortunately, its not so easy where you can just look at a race and tell how they'll behave :P. Some white girls may be loyal and some may not be. Its like that with all races and colors. Doesn't matter. Especially with girls our age, relationships aren't taken too seriously so you will have heartbreak every now and then.

They can only keep pestering you about it, but to be honest, they can't force you to get with Indians or girls who aren't white. Just make your own decisions - they'll get used to it eventually anyway.

Your parents believe what the believe. They probally will never change. You like who you like. They will eventually accept any decision you make. Our parents aren't perfect and they are the only ones we have. Some people don't have any parents.
