I have a girl that I was dating for about a month Alex, and she really loved me, but I never really felt it, so I told her I wanted to take a break for the summer, but I made it seem like we would be back together in September. Then I met this really amazing girl online, Taylor and I've been skyping her for a while, and we instantly clicked. She has a girlfriend, but from the sound of it her gf is borderline abusive and shes looking for the courage to dump her. So Taylor told me she really likes me and we were rp texting and it almost got out of hand. I really like Taylor, and I feel like we're really compatible. Alex and I are too alike, there's no diversity, and both of were to afraid to ever make a move at all. Taylor has a girlfriend, but when I was skyping with her yesterday and she tried calling her gf, but her gf's friend answered and said "I'm sorry Kari's busy not talking to you". Taylor hung up crying saying she hated herself and she deserved to be ignored. Then I made her laugh. Now I have no clue what to do at all. Can anyone help me figure out what to do?

if you really think there's no way you are getting back with alex then tell her its not just for the summer. on the other hand if this other girl breaks up with her gf i would wait to make a move to see if she really likes you or just thinks she does because of the situation she is in (she could be confused right now). its not right to get another gf just after you broke up with someone anyway.

I want to make it work with alex, but I dont think I could spend forever with her. I also have no way of contacting her at all this summer. Taylor said she liked me even before her and her gf started fighting.

why would you want to make it work with alex? didnt you say you werent feeling it and that you two were too much alike? if you are not having fun with her and you are not happy then move on. if you do want to make it work then talk to her about it, about what can you do to fix whatevers wrong between you 2. why cant you contact her at all on summer?
regarding taylor, i would advise her to break up with her gf. if its an abussive relationship and she isnt happy with it then she should break it up. if she does, be there for her (as a friend i mean). i dont really like long distance relationships (i assumed taylor doesnt live in your town and she is an online friend), but if you want to give a try with her go for it.

I dont want to hurt Alex. She loves me. Her parents took her out of state where she has no internet or phone at all. And yeah I'm in NY and Taylor's in Missouri.

Don't string Alex along, you may think you're saving her from being hurt, but all you're doing is saving an even bigger heartbreak for her down the road if you're truly not feeling it. The relationship will inevitably spiral mainly because it's one sided and you're not really into it anymore. You can't make a romantic relationship work just because you don't want to hurt the other person, if it's no longer truly mutual, you have to break it off for both of your sakes. Regardless of whether or not you go after the other girl, I think it would be best if you broke up with Alex.

Okay. I'm just scared. I'm always the dumped, not the dumper.

Just make sure you're honest and respectful while doing it, not much else you can do. It's going to probably hurt her no matter how you go about it, but at least then you both can move on and stop being involved in a one-sided relationship.

Yeah I guess so. Now i just don't know what to do about Taylor. She likes me a lot, I like her a lot, but she has a girlfriend, and is too scared to break up with her.
