so um

14. Does VirtualTeen have an iPhone/Android app?

Yes, the app "Tapatalk" is compatible with the VT Forums, and many others.
However, due to a security glitch within the app, you will not be able to send or receive any Private Messages, because it bypasses our rule of requiring 100 posts in order to use that feature.
It is on the iTunes Store, the Google Play Store, and Blackberry App World, selling for $2.99 USD.

Click Here for the official site, and then click the appropriate download link for your device.

Do people ever read the "Read this before posting" thread? Obviously not.

What Tweety said is indeed true.

We will not be making an app just for VT. Taptalk works this fine, and if you don't like taptalk, use VT in your mobile browser. We have a mobile theme (change via the bottom left corner) if the normal theme doesn't work well on your mobile broswer, although fro experience, it works well on most.

Also Govteen tried to create an APP and it was rejected due to the puberty content (I think, I don't know if that was just a rumour) so I think it would be likely that VT would be rejected also.

There are porn apps hahahaa so I doubt it would've be rejected because of puberty content

You'll find those supposed "porn apps" are usually pulled down from the android market place as they offer no protection to children e.g. child downloads app and then watches porn without any block.

Therefore porn companies usually allow direct download of this app from their websites instead of it being put on the android market.

If you research previous threads you'll find a few members who are big on govteen mention exactly what I mentioned above. Whether its exactly true or not I don't know but I would assume it could be likely given the intended nature and target audience of the app itself.

I've never used android >.<

Also Google apps also remove them as well, a lot of the app markets remove them because they offer no security so children can watch them, but the devs and other members put them up again and its constant battle lol

But yeah for multiple reasons I think Gov App fell through. TapTalk would be AMAZING if they just fixed the one PM but, its why I don't buy it because of that bug and when moderating, I have to send PMs a lot of the time and you can't via that App.

Wonder.

I have a feeling the answer's no but...

If someone created an app for this site that worked well and practically professionally done, would it be put up for download on this website itself? I think it would be kinda cool if VT had a good, completely working app. The biggest problem though would be that non-jailbroken iOS users would be screwed and maybe Blackberry, I don't know if Blackberry allows third-party apps. I'm not volunteering myself or anything (I have no clue how to make an app), I'm just curious.

GovTeen's was just the thing you can buy from Jelsoft and change it to only work on your forum. AFAIK, it only comes with vB 4, which we will not be going to anytime soon.

I certainly hope the staff would say no to this. Apps can collect data about any number of things on your phone. The potential security risk in this is beyond ridiculous.

The only way a successful, working app could be created is if the creator(s) had access to things normal users don't, and won't have access to. This means i'd basiclly be limited to staff to create this, which I can assure you won't happen. We'd theoretically be making apps for android and ios, which is like double the work.

I know of another site (used to be a member) who created a mobile app, and anytime someone logged it, their password was given to the user. As Josh said, this would basically be unsafe.

Taptalk or a mobile browser are 19382% fabulous.
