View Full Version : This friend of mine...

...is really "friendly" with me if you know what I'm saying. He always wants to hug me and whenever he does its one of those that verges on a 'romantic' hug and I may or may have not caught him looking at me. Whenever I'm around he's so nice to me. I'm not complaining AT ALL because he's legitimately a great person, but I'm just wondering if he has a little bit of a crush on me. I'm not sure of his sexuality, but he's never had a girlfriend, and by his physical appearance, I wouldn't be shocked if he were gay or bi. Of course, never judge a book by it's cover, yet actions speak louder than words. So what do you think? Should I approach him about it?

Grab his butt, if he flinches and is ready to punch you, you can always say "Hey, bro, can't you take a joke?", but if he just looks into your eyes, go for it. ;)

i wouldn't bring it up in a group, but take him to once side and bring it up discretely, he'd appreciate that :)

Talk to him about it over a text or in a location that if it were to come up he wouldn't have any reason to lie to you about it. Make it known that you are only inquiring.

Look, I have had friends (girls) who give hugs like you described and the friends were friendly people like you described. I would do the same thing for guys as long as it isn't in a place were someone could see and than humiliate you for it, throw him a bone, but don't do it publicly.

This is actually good advice. Do something that you can say was a joke if he's not that kind of person.

I'm straight, but I have a couple of buddies who are the huggy cuddle type and I really like them a lot. It's like you said, they're super extra nice. Sometimes guys can have a really deep non-sexual affection for each other which is called "bromance". But whether he's gay or not, it sounds like you've got a really special sweet friend.

Maybe he's just a clingy sort of guy. It would be bad to insinuate something like that, so I wouldn't ask him directly. Just try to ask questions that would give you a hint at his sexuality.

i'd personally just sit him down somewhere i know he like to go and ask him once he comfortable or you could go with the more popular grab his but both have worked for me
