How far up the vaginal opening is the hymen?

It's not very far up, usually near the vaginal opening.

Almost directly inside (really close to the opening) but most girls are already born with a hole in their hymen to begin with (if it's completely closed the doctor opens it ANYWAY sorta like circumcision for baby boys). Sometimes this could worry girls because they can often fit a finger (since it's much smaller/thinner than a penis) into their vagina and it can make them wonder why they "can't feel their hymen". It IS there, but it's most likely opened slightly for all girls at birth OR just do to regular exercises that might tear it (the most common being masturbation lol :D).
