OK, here goes. Forgive me if it's offensive. I've never shared this. My father sexually abused me for two years. He's in jail for doing it to another girl and I was too ashamed to tell. I remember it all and can't keep it in. I guess this is as good a place as any to start. I just don't know how.

Thank you. I'm not sure what to say as I don't want to offend anyone. There's a lot of confusion and shame about it. Feelings and all.

You won't offend anyone, here. My father sexually abused me for years and I never told anyone. Once I posted here, I felt a little better. It hurts to keep such a big secret, for so long.

Pain is always going to keep hurting if its kept inside of you, by letting it out, you should feel better. I hope you do at least. :)

I guess it's being open about it, you know? It's like, so public and I don't know where or how to start. But thanks to everyone.

I've had some issues with this too. My dad also sexually abused me for a couple years. Finally about 6 months ago my boyfriend found out, which was probably the best thing that could have happened in the end. I was too scared and ashamed to say anything, but once he knew he stood up and did it for me. Now my dad is in prison, where he should be, and I'm left to try and put my life back together...but with help from a therapist and good family support you can get through it!

I would try to find somebody you can trust to talk to about it, really a therapist would be the best. At this point with him being in jail already, there isn't a whole lot they can do when they react to it.

you won't offend anyone by stating how you feel about your own experience with abuse. we're here to help, not judge or make you feel worse about it. I'm sorry this happened to you, it's something I don't wish on anyone :/
