Well im abit sick of my computer. Its the slowest computer ever and can't run many games.

I want to damage it, so my mum will buy a new one. I don't want her to know that I damaged it.

I don't even meet good enough requirements for LoL. It is just very very slow.

Anyway this is my specs.

Windows 7 Compaq
2gbs Ram
64 Bit Operating System
Video graphics

Integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE
Sound/Audio
Integrated Realtek ALC888S Audio
LAN: 10-Base-T
Hard drive 320 GB

Its not the slowest computer ever and it can run plenty of games.

Don't be such a brat. You could upgrade it or be patient till you get a new one. Or earn money yourself so you can get what you want.

Breaking something because you don't think its good enough and hope to get a better one in return is ridiculous and juvenile.

LAN: 10-Base-TNo way it's 10-Base-T and frankly that's not such a terrible computer.

Upgrade it if you want. This is a bad plan as others have already stated.

You want to damage something that you probably didn't pay for?

Why not do something good and donate it or sell it? Destroying it is rather immature and pathetic in my opinion.

It'll be extremely unlikely that your plan would work, your mum would end up calling a IT repair man or something, and he'd end up fixing it for cheaper. It would also be pretty clear that you sabotaged it if this did happen, your best option is to upgrade individual parts. Start with something cheaper, like RAM and move up slowly from there.

....Your best option is to upgrade individual parts. Start with something cheaper, like RAM and move up slowly from there.

You can either do that or sell the whole computer or individual parts (i.e. ram sticks, maybe the hard drive, ect.)

I also would suggest not breaking it, because Computer Repair people will know the difference between a break, and a human break.

JayDogg, you're not even 100% sure your mom is even gonna get you a new one. Also, that's not that bad of a computer. At least I'm grateful for what I have. As I said in the chat, you don't always get everything you want in life.

I'd advise you, like the others, not to do such a thing. There's no guarantee your mom will buy you a new laptop. I'm sort of speaking from experience here. I don't deliberately destroy computers, but somehow I've managed to make several useless and broken (more like the software part, not the hardware). The most recent one happened during the school year and once again I had to use a laptop that used to be my mom's :P

1. Unplug your computer
2. Bring the computer to your mom
3. Look her right in the eye
4. Slam the computer into the floor
5. ?????
6. Profit!

Also, if you want to videotape her reaction and post the video here, that'd be great!

That really isn't that bad of a computer.
Save some money or get a job, and then you can buy a new computer yourself, along with the pride you get.

Your mom probably has an idea that you're not satisfied with your computer. Breaking it will just lead her to believe you did that on purpose, with all of the consequences that brings.

Now I don't know about all the details, but you might be able to upgrade it. It's Windows 7, is 64-bit(meaning it should support more than 4GB RAM), and has what looks to me like a modern graphics card. So visit your local computer shop, and ask them about possible upgrades. Consider their offer, and look it up on the internet to see if there are better deals.
You'll almost certainly end up paying less than you would for a new computer, and all your stuff just remains where it is.

If you really want to get rid of it and get a new one, sell it (after wiping out all your memory, of course) and put the money towards a new one. Why break a totally decent computer?

You didn't post the specs for the processor, but your computer sounds fine. In any case, breaking it just to get a new one is ridiculous, and as others have said you probably won't get a new one. Look at the quote in my signature. Someone tried this with their phone and it didn't work.

Increase the RAM first, don't destroy it. Your mom probably came out of her pocket to purchase the computer. Be grateful, you may not always have her around.

No it can't. His videocard doesn't even hit past 75.

Anyways if you really want to trash your pc, just remove your fan from your CPU and let everything overheat. Your PC will be fried.

Ignore these people who have no idea what they are talking about. Your PC is very limited due to your current motherboard. You are however, being extremely selfish, just an FYI. It is also semi normal for stock fans to give out like this, so it shouldn't be too strange for it to be fried.

Edit: Might have to turn off your heat settings in BIOS btw, or else your PC may force shut down to avoid damage.

Stock fans can malfunction more common than you think. Just because it stopped working at one time, doesn't mean it is completely broken. Sometimes the cpu connector can come unplugged from not being put in far enough. There are lots of reasons why it could stop working.

She'll never even know.

Seriously though? :| This is a very selfish idea. Your mother, I'm assuming, paid for the first computer, you want to break it to get another one that, again I'm assuming, she will have to pay for?

A new(read: a replacement of the same) CPU, fan, and thermal paste will still be cheaper than a new computer.

No reason whatsoever to destroy it. Especially for such a foolish reason, sorry to say.

It would be much easier to just get some more RAM and pop those babies in. To actually pull that stunt off without being caught (if your mother is vigilant enough to know if you're sabotaging it) would be more complex than just doing the above.

Plus, that thing doesn't even sound half bad. A little RAM and love and you can probably do some pretty decent things with it.

Breaking it so your mom will get a new one... *disapproving nod*

The fan will not be actually broken. My point was to overheat the system and destroy the cpu/damage the motherboard from all of the heat. If the motherboard is still intact after the overheat, he could just take the motherboard out and rub it against carpet though. It would stop working from the static electricity.
But he could just flash the BIOS with a random file for all I care.

Ok, everyone here is giving life lessons, not answering the question. I know its a bratty thing to do, but here we go.

1. This is the best way. Build up some static electricity and touch the motherboard and shock it.

2. Unplug the CPU cooler and run intel burn test. The computer will probably just shut down, so it doesn't matter. Don't forget to plug the cooler back in.

3. This won't destroy the computer, but it will erase all the data. Run a magnet along the hard drive.

This is honestly an extremely stupid idea. How about approaching your mother to find ways to earn some money to purchase a better computer? There's so many ways that you could get a better computer without destroying your current one.

Yes it can.

The fact that it can't play anything almost anything younger than 9~ years is besides the point and is his problem.

Is there a point to your cool ''I'm only going to post this 3dmark graph as a reply'' ?

Maybe you are too young or too spoiled but you know games used to be all 2d... Hell even text based... And there are still some 2d games from the 90s that would run like smooth sailing on that old shitty graphics card I would play any day of the week over many many new games that only offer eye candy and boring ass repetetive gameplay seen everywhere.

Also huge props for teaching someone how to break something they didn't even earn 5/5

Does it sound like he wants to play those types of games? No. I am old enough to have grown up with 2d games, and had the chance to have played prompt based games too. Calling me spoiled because I am telling you that his graphics card is not powerful enough to run anything semi-recent is just immature tbh.

The OP asked what he could do to destroy his computer so I answered. If you disagreed with the thread then you should just ignore it or report it. So please quit crying.

Delete system32...

LifeOfLove

Honestly, there isn't anything you can actually due to it that somebody won't notice. Unless you know enough about what you are doing to put everything back together perfectly, it'll be really obvious, so how about starting to be grateful for what you currently have, and start working toward something new? Find little jobs you can do, sell your current computer, and save up to get something newer and better. Just remember, there are plenty of people with less than you have.

However, you don't care about any of that, so to answer your actual question, Manga has probably the best way. However, unplugging the fans won't get you much, just wrap the whole thing up tight in a blanket after you disable it shutting down from heat and see how that goes. Trying to unplug fans could really screw you over. Also doing something like deleting system 32 won't work since that can just be reloaded. Frying something with static is actually really hard, and requires the motherboard to be out of the case for it to work. However, stock fans giving out is not at all common...so overheating it may or may not look intentional.

I can say what I say from experience. My boyfriend runs a computer repair business, and I'm the one who takes the phone calls. He's trained me fairly well in what he does, and he knows what he is talking about. I can guarantee that anybody who really knows what they are looking at will be able to tell that you fried the computer if you do it intentionally. You're better off to just "accidentally" spill a large thing of water on it and hope your mom is awesome enough to help you out, which she totally should not do.

Honestly man i would just tell your mom upfront that your laptop's a bit dated and doesn't do what you want. It may not suit your needs, but it will suit someone else's needs just well. It's not worth ruining a completely operational laptop.

Ok, ask your mom or something. If you make some nice points and tell her that you can give her the laptop or to some other family member, she might think that you are very mature and kind, so she will say that she will buy you a new one.

If not, ruin the hard drive with a magnet.

try unplugging the connector used to power the cooler on the CPU
if the computer is new enough it should throttle/ shut down
if not then try creating a short circut
