Since you had no proper nouns in your question I'm assuming "the pill" is birthcontrol. In which case the age is all dependent on a few things. The first is you've had have your first period. The second and probably more important is, are you engaging in sexual activities? If you are start the pill next time you have the chance, if not, you really don't have to be on it until you know you're ready to start having sex.

The pill isn't just for if your having sex, some people take it to balance out their hormones.

There isn't really a recommended age. You should consider going on the pill if you have trouble with your period or you are sexually active and want to use it as contraception. There are other reasons but these are the main ones, and these apply regardless of age

I had extremely bad acne for a while and the doctor recommended me take birth control in order to balance out my hormones and hopefully reduce the acne. However, my mum was against it as she believes that going on the pill for more than 10 years before having children can cause difficulties in having children in the future. But I don't know :(

I was unaware of that fact, thank you for pointing that out.

So you didn't use it? Who said you have to be on it for 10 years? your hormones would hopefully naturally balance out and you could stop using the pill down the track. Also, discuss this with your doctor as I am not sure if its true, I've never heard about that side effect.

Well I'd probably use it for its original purpose - birth control, later in life. But yeah, my mum won't let me anyway :(

cleaning your face every morning and eating less greasy food (eat more fruit) will help you with your acne problem.
