Yes you need 500 posts to create a group and be here for 3 months I think.

However you've met the 3 months criteria, so you just need 5 posts.

Once you reach that, you can make a group. If you want one earlier, you can ask someone to make it for you, and once you have enough posts, they can transfer the group over to you.
